That key is realllly sweet...I'd love to own a set...Sounds like a serious special order (at a premium price, no doubt) from Japan, if they allow them for USA Z's.

Sure are really nice to have!

I was actually suprised of the "keys" from a 'Mazdaspeed 6'; It's actually a "credit card" like card that you keep in your wallet, and all you do is touch a button on the outside of the car to open it. Also, there is no key to turn the car on, you just turn the ignition **** switch.
That's what I was told, and shown, by the dealer. Sounded/looked really neat.

+1 The Madzaspeed 6 is an awesome looking ride for a 4 door...I'd definitely pick one up, if I didn't have 2 cars already (one of which is a 4 door Sports Sedan).

The owners of MS6 reported the credit card keys has a lot of problems. The car suppose to lock when the key is out of range (owner walk away from the car with key in pocket), but doesn't. If you are interested, do a search on MS6 and check out the forums. I suspect this technology will be very common in a few years.

Sounds like a good idea, cept I have an alarm that has its own transmitter.. So I don't have a need for a key with the transponder built in.. but I would love a new cooler looking key! something with a Z or the Nissan hamburger..

Holy Crap! I want a set of those keys. Will they work on a U.S. model?

Yeah, I had one of those for a Scion tC that I used to have (don't ask). It was cool but it makes the key pretty bulky. Plus, if you think replacing a key with a transmitter in it is expensive, wait until you need one with a transmitter and a remote.

I THINK this key was explored before and it was determined that the J-spec keys use a different type of transponder chip/frequency that is incompatible with US cars. Not sure, though. Search around.

We have tried other JDM Chipped key's on the Z (Skyline R34 GTR etc) and could not get them to program on USDM cars...

Once we can receive JDM Shippments again I hope to test this key as well...
