i've driven quite a few cars. Jun is big w/ supras, and they're far from feeling 'sporty'. Thats a bit more grand touring than the Z, weighs the same and its only advantage is that it has stock turbo and a closed deck inline 6 engine design. They probably don't have the money to invest into the Z because the turbo market is still weak. Around now it'll wake up since used Z's will be more common.
Also, didn't they have a 350z w/ a VQ30DET swap in the Z for a top speed run? They failed. Its probalby rebutle for money wasted.
"Mr. Koyama feels that the 350Z is good for cruising on the highway, but needs work for street tuning. "
Shiet, and he's right.
I share the same sentiment as the JUN folks:
The car looks ALOT "sportier" than it really is, and requires a little tweaking for it to live up to it's looks.
I like my car. Prefer it to other sport cars.. Evo, skyline, sti all look like normal sedans.. You jump inside one of those and they don't have a sporty look (interior and exterior).
It's prob. because the Z was made for the U.S. and not Japan. The car is better at high speed driving rather than autocross and 1/4mi. runs...but what do you expect from a country w/ less land area than the state of Montana and 4 times the population of California? I'm suprised that they have foom for roads at all. No wonder that their coming out w/ cars that you could drive down the aisles of your local supermarket(Yaris).lol.
It's prob. because the Z was made for the U.S. and not Japan
not to forget, it was not only made FOR the US, it was made IN the US. In california if i remember that right. And me personally woulds say you can see the influence of american cars in the 350z
that is obviously not true and in my opinion negates most of his other comments. im not saying the Z is the best thing since sliced bread but i think its proved itself to be a valid sports car
