I have noticed though, that it seems to HATE entrance ramps on highways. If its the slighest bit bumpy, it will come on. Also, once you trigger it to come on, you can not turn it off for a few seconds.

I also turn if off when merging onto the highway in the rain. The tires slip so easily in the rain in a Z that if you go above 2k you won't move because it will shut you down. Once I am on the highway and cruising, it comes on and stays on.

For fun driving I leave it off of course. But for the rest of the team, definately leave it on. It can save your ass before you even know whats happening.
i wanted to be an ******* yesterday and turned off the VDC and the floor was wet.....and wow i was fishtailing like crazy.....and almost lost control but it does help a lot once i turned it back on ran good....and i forgot to turn it off once i was racing a friend lol thats why u have second runs and smoke him after =].....do a sick donut and it will be off until u restart the engine. my two cents

Wow, that was a stunning argument. But that is correct. If you have ever actually disengaged power to your VDC you would easily be able to feel the difference between "VDC Off" via the button and VDC off via full disengagement of power.

Hmmm...well, I really didn't see the need for an elaborate explanation about why "OFF" means OFF.

But thanks for the confirmation.

This doesn't make any sense. The VDC+TCS is keeping you from spinning your wheels. Why would you WANT to lose traction and just spin your wheels if your goal is to pull out as quickly as possible into traffic? If your goal is to accelerate as quickly as possible, you should either learn to modulate the throttle better in 1st gear, or get better tires.

I saw a guy in an RSX allmost get broadsided the other day when he tried pulling out into moving traffic. He just mashed the throttle, causing his front wheels to spin. When he realized he wasn't moving fast enough, he mashed the throttle even more out of stupidity, and he was allmost hit by the oncoming car... VDC probably would have helped a lot in this situation, if he had not bothered to turn it off in the first place.

No problem, . And arguing the semantics of whether Nissan putting VDC OFF on the switch really means off is pointless. I can tell you from personal experience though and speaking with several Nissan techs that the VDC is never truly off unless you disengage power. I have done it and it's a pretty obvious difference so I guess until one tries it one will never know.
