You know it pisses me off too that the kid got away, but in the end it wouldn't be right to convict someone based solely on just one other persons testimony (especially if that testimony has been somewhat inconsistent). The judge made the call he had to make. His job is to serve the law, not justice.

But the problem was not with our justice system/government anyway. It was with the high school kids that didn't have the guts or the desire to do the right thing and come forward and testify as to what they saw. That's the real problem; and unfortunately, unlike bad judges and politicians, you can't just vote that kind of attitude out of those kids.

Normally I would too, but this family has no money to go after. The kid has already been convicted of other vandalism and owes over $20K.

Pretty sad you gotta have more faith in karma than in the legal system.

I've seen karma be a little more viscious than the legal system. Fingers crossed.

So, Race4it, I have not heard what is the outcome of your ride. What are your plans for the car? Did you get it all cleaned up yet? If so, how was it accomplished? Did you have to get it repainted? We would love to see some "after" pics.

if you ask me.....i think there's entirely too much rights given to those obvious criminals.....i'm just sad that justice system is teaching the kid how easy it is to get away with criminal-acts......at the end all it's going to do is make him push the envelope until he carries out an unspeakable crime.....and it's already showing serious signs......

blah....i gotta give it to you guys. Very well handled. I hope your insurance will cover the damages and go after that family eventhough they have no $$.

At least you'll be taken cared of man. Besides, think of it as a chance to get a FULL NEW PAINTJOB.....all $7000 worth.

The kid reaqlly sounds like he needs a couple days behind bars for an attitude adjustment or maybe a beating or raping while he is in.

Man this really does suck... I just spent about 45mins reading the whole thread expecting that the video would surface, or more witnesses would come forth, or the kid filming it would buckle and spill the truth. I am kinda depressed now. But you mentioned that the first time you went to court there were 2 kids, what happened to the other kid the second go around? BTW big props for not loosing it and making the situation worse.
