Get out of here
if money is no object then why are you looking at a Used Z06? Something sounds wierd? Are you a 14 year old pulling our chain? b/c if a $52,000 dollar car depreciated $15,000 in two years w/ only 5,000 miles on it, then I must be crazy. I call BS on this whole thread.

ok, this is my last post on this forum.
1st of, i knew it was too good to be true at first. every one was being so generous. something was just weird about that.
of course, people like "kyle" and "robbyn" have to come on this issue and totally bash everything. i am gonna come on the internet and lie? ya guys, what do i get out of lying to a bunch of people on the internet?? real smart fellas, real smart. geez, idiots! (sorry jmanz, but them two just jumped on a nerve)
anyways, i thank everybody for responding to my thread.
i will take some pics of the Z06 when i get it, and i will send it to jmanz so he can post the pics on here so some people like Kyle and robbyn can shove it!
i hope you all enjoy your 350 Z's, it is a great car!
take care.
and thank you Rob for being so supportive. Take care.

Corvette vs Z
I have posted before on this thread, but in re-reading the posts, I have a question: How much is the residual value at the lease's end and what kind off penalties will you have to pay if you decide to keep it? Deals that sound too good to be true are usually too good to be true. I think you are going to get hosed with a lease on the car; the dealers are pretty free to have you pay Big Bucks for any damage, etc. at lease end. The whole deal smells bad to me.

I'm Sorry, No not really......
Dude, first of all, what does a Z06 have to do with a 350Z. Totally different cars, different target markets, different everything. Look at it this way, you were actually asking people's opinion about how to spend $35,000 that you only know on the internet, These same people that you of course wouldn't give a damn about impressing, but you do hold them in high enough regard to value thier opinion enough to let you sway how you bury yourself in debt for the next 4-5 years. Oh wait money is no object. Sorry I forgot, but then again you probably won't even read this because your not posting here anymore. This isn't about "hate" or "negative" anything, have fun in your Z06 I'm sure you'll get a kick out of it, if you need help deciding what to wear tomorrow, maybe you could forward photos of your wardrobe to JmanZ and we'll vote on it for you.

I also have looked at a number of used Z06's and silverstones claims seem to be spot on for a 2001 model. Dealers can't get rid of them!! Hell, look on Ebay. Not only will you find tons of 01's getting blown out, but you'll also find that guys selling the "405HP" badges that come on the 02's are doing a swift business.

Corvette vs 350 z
Again I have to eat my own words! If the Z06 vette with 385 hp is as devalued as a previous post says, then go for it if you are that impressed. I'll take the Z.

For anyone that has not driven a Z06, let me tell you that this thing is INCREDIBLE. handeling, acceleration, brakes, its got the whole package, and the interior is not cheesy at all, like somebody mentioned. I didnt think so atleast.
Anyways, that isnt even the cool part. The part that is mind boggeling is this:
the manager of the dealership happens to be the same nationality as i am. Knowing this, of course he will cut me a deal.
now get this..
2001 Z06
5000 MILES
6 SP M
LOADED
lease for 3 years with 15,000 M/YR.
NO $ down
all this for
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
a whooping $495/mth.
Now i dont know about you, but to me that sounds like a deal of a lifetime.
there u have it folks, as much as i LOVE the Z to death, i am not sure if this is a deal to pass on. What does everybody think??
in all honesty, i might cancel my 350Z order and get this ZO6.
thoughts??

That is an awesome deal. If you can handle the insurance payments, I say go for it. The 350Z, while a nice car, isn't even in the same league performance wise.
Jeez, 495/month... that's about what I pay financing my 2002 Maxima. Not a lease, but still.

You should never simplify a car purchase (or lease) to what you pay per month. Dealers always try to do that so as to hide the true price of the car. You can get just about any car for any price per month but what are the terms of the loan or lease? Make sure about their rules for what they call "excessive wear" on the car. Your definition and theirs may be very different, and you may be in for a surprise when you turn in the car. Leases are funny sometimes with all the cryptic language and terms used. The best bet is to nail him down on the actual PRICE of the car and then figure your payments out from there.
Hey, maybe your dealer is sincere and you got a great deal though. If so, Congrats.
