Default Awlful ticking at idle

I have an 06 enthusiasts and everyday when i start my car and roll down the windows in my garage I hear this loud ticking. When i press the clutch it goes away. Even when drivin I hear it ticking.

Ive searched about the axle ticking sound but didnt seem like it applies to this. Im not sure exactly whats ticking but its very annoyin like a bend valve sound or something.

Can anyone help me out here on diagnoisin this problem?? The tick doesnt go away even after drivin around for awhile.

oh and I have 15k miles on the car. Only mod I have is a Nismo exhast installed by the dealer, JWT popcharger and mrev+ kit which I installed.
The sound was there even wtihout the popcharger and mrev kit.

Jon

Default It's your Z's heartbeat...

IT's ALIVE!. IT's ALIVE. Haha. On a more serious note, I don't know what that's about. Mine hasn't had anything like that.

^ +1. I think I just got used to it also. I'll have to listen for it tomorrow morning. Maybe its because I drive with the windows up more often now

just a little clutch chatter. i'm pretty sure it's normal.

i had a 2000 Altima SE that got a brand new 5spd tranny and clutch a couple years ago. it did the same thing.

It was cold yesturday, but it made that sound throughout the day. It sounds like a paper stuck in fan.

yeah I love the unique sounds of the Z... the fast ticking sound is injector noise. The rattley "girinding stone turning" sound is the tranny/clutch. (my 03' sounds like a mac truck here lately)

The rattling/somewhat grind noise when the clutch is released at idle is caused by a shoddy throwout bearing design. They all do that and they all make the same noise 03-06model years with manual trans. I work at a nissan dealership as a tech, its completly normal.

The injectors are not quite that noisy though, you might be able to hear them if your at idle sitting next to a wall or a semi trailer. If you want noisy injectors buy a 2.5 altima, those are noisy.
