Good news for some, I suppose.

Why would they beef up the internals if they were not going FI? We all know that with present internals, any FI is sketchy on reliability...

My !
Go outside, pop the hood, take a picture and post it please. Some of us don't have a Z to compare the underside to. So far the only pictures of the "new hood" came from the O.C. autoshow and the guy that was guarding it was quoted as saying that it was a preproduction model. What ever tf that means. So you have a point... maybe evolved (the guy who posted this pic of the Solar Orange) can confirm whether or not this Orange car does in fact have a hood like the car from the autoshow. Maybe, maybe not.

Aren't the dents circled in this picture the grooves on the other side?

I don't see these dents in the crappy cell phone pic of this car.

Hmmmm... I dunno... hard to say. We'll see I guess.

Thanks for the picture for comparison, mc350z.

Definitely a (slightly) different hood.

I went and test drove an 06 was very VERY unimpressed with the power band. I hope they fix this in the 07 model. I'd love to see a hp/tq curves on a chart for the 07.

I test drove an 07 G sedan and I can tell you they have resolved my complaints about the VQ. I now prefer it to the VK and can't wait for the VK45de to hopefully become the VK45HR

This is a great motor and I really am excited to experience it with 300 or so less pounds and a 6 mt

The drive in the G solidified my intent to replace my aging Z with an 07. The HR is that good for me.

Why do people ask dumb-*** questions like this? How are we supposed to know when the '07 hasn't even been released yet?

It's not so much the increase in power (always nice by any means) but its the refinement that Nissan has offered up. I would still want this engine if the power was identical to the current VQ.

Everyone should go test drive the new 07 G sedan to get a taste! It was a blast looking at the RPM guage and seeing 7,500 yet the engine is offering no vibration or any other sign its up there, AND it still feels like its pulling.

This is the sort of engine I always felt like the Z deserved.

Does anyone know if the 07 350Z in Japan is using the new HR motor?
