All '07 G35 sedans have the HR motor, all making the same power.

Good point, it says Track is gone, but says there's 5 coupe models and then only lists 4.

I drove the G35 sedan (2007) today and was VERY impressed. Makes my G35 feel VERY slow and honda-ish when it comes to off the line acceleration.

"We took our test car to the track, where it hunkered down and dashed to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, covering the quarter-mile in 13.9 seconds at 103. Hmm, that is swell, and considerably quicker than the last G35 we tested (0 to 60 in 5.9 seconds and the quarter in 14.6 at 98 mph) as well as just a blink behind the IS350. More impressive still, our G35 tester went to the track with fewer than 250 miles on the odo. That’s like putting an Olympic sprinter in the starting blocks in his street clothes. What’ll it do with a proper break-in? We look forward to finding out."

"Speaking of weight, like almost all new cars, the G35 scales in a little heavier than the previous edition. Infiniti says 48 pounds and lists curb weight at 3532. In our comparo a year ago, the G35 weighed 3520, and this similarly equipped ’07 version ran our needle up to 3583."

Z with a few hundred less pounds equals = ??

I wonder how this engine will feel in the Z compared to the G? This engine is so smooth in the G. If the times are true it's faster than the Z, but it feels not as violent in doing it.

I'm sure this doesn't really work... at all..., but if you do a direct power to weight ratio comparison, and then multiply to the 2007 G's time, the results are, in the words of Borat : VERREH NIIIICE!

2007 G35 power to weight = (306/1625kg) = 188.308 hp/tonne

Assuming the 2007 Z weighs the same as the 2006 (1514kg),
the 2007's power to weight = 202.114

188.308/202.114 = .9317 . . .
(also assuming old Z 1/4 mile time of 13.9)
.9317 x 13.9 = 12.95 seconds for the 2007 Z. Which is amazing, so it's probably wrong =)

If you account for the G's weight gain (50lbs) and give it to the 2007 Z,

the PWR = 199.089 and corresponding 1/4 mile time = 13.14 seconds which actually seems very likely, given the G's gain of .7 seconds.

I guess we'll see if my sh*tty math is any where close to being right in a couple months...
