Default Stupid questions:

Looking at picking up a 2003 Track Z...here it goes

These are all non-bose right? How is the quality of the stock stereo system as far as cd/radio quality, at high volumes, with bass etc...does it NEED to be upgraded or is it ok

How comfy are the cloth seats? If i wanted to swap with an 03 with leather, would these be a direct swap? How do people with the cloth like them? I am in florida, hot weather is quite common.

Im not going to ask the usual BS questions, ive done my research.

Last thing, the factory warranty will cover any potential tranny/window/headlight/gas tank issues right?

Anything else i should be aware of or watch out for? I am somewhat mechanically inclined so i can do a lot of work myself.

i believe the tracks were bose, but as for the stock system, it is ok unless you want to weigh your Z down with subwoofers and that

i have had leather in my old car and i got cloth with my Z. i have to say the cloth is more comfy (i also have done three 1000+ mile trips with the Z). as for a swap, it should be really straight forward

if the car was brand new, yes. if you are getting it used you have to deal with the limited warranty the dealer gives you. now if it is a TSB problem like the crank sensor and that, they have to fix it (if it has not been done already)

Anything else i should be aware of or watch out for? I am somewhat mechanically inclined so i can do a lot of work myself.
not really, if you know about the tire feathering and the rest of the junk the 2003's had.

If you are looking for a vehicle with a great sounding audio system, forget the 350Z: all models.

How comfy are the cloth seats? Drive one.

Warranty information can be found at nissanusa.com.

Anything else i should be aware of or watch out for? For reliability data check Consumer Reports.

Remember.......there are no stupid questions........just stupid people. j/k

I have the Bose with leather.
The Bose sound system is just ok, nothing special IMO.
I kind of wish I had the cloth seats to be honest. The cloth is definitely more comfortable, but leather wears much better. And as far as leather goes, the seats in the Z are pretty good quality IMO.

The power train is everything from what makes power (the motor) to the end of the train (rear axle).

The non-Bose blows big time. You would definitely need to upgrade IMO.

Take the car for a spin. If you like it - go for it.

The 03 Track has the non-bose system. It's fine for the non-audiophile, but you'll want to save your pennies and upgrade when you can if you like to have some real bass and decent highs.

The cloth seats are just fine. The reason they use cloth vs. leather in the track is probably because it holds on to you better under cornering, and I would imagine it's lighter (which helps to compensate for the heavier brakes, I suppose). If you won't be tracking your car, a leather swap is fine, but give the cloth a chance, you may like it.

As for warranty...If the car is in warranty, drivetrain issues would be covered unless the warranty work is required because of modifications causing problems. research the Magnusson-Moss act for more information.

Great price. Ask if the tranny has been replaced yet.

Wow so the leather seats aren’t as comfortable as the cloth seats? Really?!

I personally don't think so but I have never been a huge fan of leather seats.
I guess it depends on your preference. Leather is firmer with better overall support but cloth is more cushy and comfortable.
