in need of help before the winter?
hello everyone! I am new to this site (joined a week and a half ago) and new to the Z family. I just purchashed a new silverstone 2006 touring on tuesday. I want to put a good coat of wax before it gets to cold out and wanted to know what my best options are. If I could get some opinions on how to best prepare my car for the winter I would greatly appreciate it .

How else is he going to get used to rear wheel drive in the winter without even trying? Id put some good snow tires on there. Plus its not like it snows 24/7 here in the northeast. Just dont take it out in the middle of a bad storm and wait for your town/city to clean up the streets. I know my town is pretty quick with that.
As for the wax, im sure any turtle wax should be fine. Im not a waxing expert or anything but i would just go to an autozone and see if they have special winter only wax. Good luck

The main reason for me, being as i live in southern newyork as well. I wouldnt dare take my car out in the winter simply because they over salt the roads. after the roads dry up after a big snow fall, the roads around here are pretty much white. Me personally my Z wont be taken out in the winter. Call me lame but i own a 03 and its never seen rain or snow. Thus why underneath its as cleen as the day it came off the show room. I am a firm beleaver in salt destorying vehicles- brakes wheel berrings etc.... The garage is your best bet. Hope everything works out for you. ps. corect me if im wrong but, all well know waxes are good, but im pretty sure that after like 5-10 coats of wax, you build up more depth in your paint to. Kind of like an extra cleer coat.

hey guys. Wow. thanks for all the good ideas. I do currently have a four wheel drive beater. If I did'nt, I would have never bought this car. It would end up in the bronx on milk crates, first of all if I had to drive it every day. With that said, I am definetly a fanatic when it comes to my cars, and my Z will not see snow or rain. I was just curious with the car being new, what types of wax would be most beneficial for me. I will check in the detail section for some ideas. Thank you for the support.
