Don't go to the G unless you have pratical use for it (such as a back seat). The Z out performs the G for a cheaper cost. What are some of your reasons for pondering this?

I wrestled with a similar decision before buying my car - '04 G35 6MT vs '03 350Z Track. As others have stated, the Z handles noticeably better and is more fun to drive. I think it would take a lot of $$$ in mods to get the G to the same performance level. That and the fact that the G cost $7K more than the Z made purchasing the Z a fairly easy decision.

My only regret is that some of the interior pieces in the Z don't seem up to snuff for compared to the rest of the car and the pricepoint. But a few hard plastic pieces here and there aren't enough for me to give up the Z for a G.

Thanks guys

Consider what it is you are needing. Is the Z your only transportation (I imagine not) and if so, would the G fit what tasks you need it to? Will it affect your insurance? My ex-girlfriend bought an '05 G about a month before we broke up so I was able to sample it for a short time and I can sympathize with anyone who likes the extra room, better ride, and nicer luxury. Why did you buy the Z in the first place and do those reasons still apply today? Good luck in your decision. I'm sure you will be happy with your decision!

I agree. I was confused as well. Probably better to keep the discussion on comparative vehicles, but here I go off on another...

I did drive both G’s (Coupe and Sedan recently when buying a car for my wife) in the MT sport version/configuration. I must say I was really impressed with both.

The G Sedan MT is a great performing 4-door car that is fun to drive (and I did drive other 4 door sedans as a comparison). If I had to drive a 4-door sedan, this the one I would pick. It has a stiff suspension, handles well for a sedan, and has a decently performing engine.

The G Coupe MT is a little better in every way than the G Sedan when driving and handling is the comparison parameter. The G Coupe MT is very close to the Z in a lot of ways, and it feels a lot like the Z. The big differences between the G Coupe and the Z are the slightly longer wheelbase on the G and its slightly softer and less rigid suspension.

But I will have to say this: After doing the test drives in the G (MT Coupe and Sedan), and getting back into the Z and driving home. …Well it was like “wow is this Z a great driver or what?” Hello Baby!... I’m keeping the Z for sure. --Spike
