Default LS7 in a 350Z!!!

After much searching, probably in all of the wrong places, I have come to the conclusion that there is no one, other that Chris Forsberg (sp) that has a V8 in their 350z, and thats a Nissan V8.

I just recently purchased a brand new, turn key LS7 V8 from my uncle who was interested in putting it in his new hot rod but ran out of funds and needed the money bad for more important expenses, so to make a long story short, I bought it from him in anticipation that I could find a shop or someone online that would either offer a kit to drop this motor in or could fabricate the necessary mounts to incorporate my brand new LS7 into my 2006 350Z.

Again, long story short, I can't find anyone that is doing this yet. For all I know, it may not even be possible.

Can anyone help here? I have a brand new Vet motor sitting in my garage with no engine bay to call home.

Oh well, I will keep wishing and looking, someone will eventually give me what I'm looking for. Untill then, my LS7 will be sitting in its crate on my shop floor waiting for the day that it will take its first breath of air and fuel. I just gotta make sure I keeps its blindfold on. Not sure how she will react when she finds out she is american muscle trapped in a japanese body. Oh well, she will get over it.

Thanks again for this link, I will keep checking back on that site.

Why don't you be the first and figure it all out?

we have put ls1's in pretty much anything and everything lately (ie. Datsun 240z, Suzuki Samurai, S14), really not too difficult to do just a matter of how much money are you willing to throw at it. Most of the custom jobs that we have done the customer just pays us to make the custom motor mounts/transmission mount, driveshaft and other fabrication oriented jobs and they have been taking care of the wiring, etc, etc since that can get pretty costly quick with the amount of time involved

there are always a lot of variables to overcome when doing an off the wall engine swap but as said above, if you have the money and are willing to spend it these jobs can be accomplished by any good custom fabrication shop

Unless you use the t56 6 spd, modifications will be required. I have been over every aspect of this swap look at this, just some random thoughts from everyone.

ps: I pm'ed you with two shops on the eastcoast that can easily knock this job out for you!! there are quite a few ls1 powered imports around this way and more reputable shops than you can shake a stick at

If there is a way to make sure the cruise control works, A/C, ABS, traction control...I would fork over the cash to make it happen. The LS7 is one HELLUVA good motor!!

a new 350z with an ls7 would be heavier than a z06....

Pretty sure you are thinking of the Titan V8 350z. Almost certain there is no LS7 350 on D1.

When I talked to the guy at Hinson Supercars a few months back he said he would cut a deal for the first person to let them use their Z. They want to start making parts but don't have a car.

I'd agree. This is one of those swaps where you have to throw a lot of money and time into it. It's also one of those swaps that makes for good arguments online but never really comes to fruition in the real world. If you're going to sit around for a year trying to save up enough money to make it work, it might be better to just sell the LS7 to someone else and hopefully put together enough money for a turbo kit or something like that.

If they can put a LS1 in a prelude then they can sure as hell put on in a Z easily.
