So-cal attitude - you don't wave, why should I???
First - you don't have to have a 'modded' Z to prove that you're an enthusiast!!! I just recently got my 350Z and it's still bone stock and I'm MORE than an enthusiast (have the last gen Z too)!
Second - Just common courtesy would require response when responded too (when safe when driving). Most folks in SoCal either a)don't care b)don't see you c)maybe are mod snobs and think they can't acknowledge a stock Z. I say whatever. Only time I was waved to (actually was high beamed friendly like) was on Angles Crest Hwy. I barely was able to wave back due to the curvy road. Most Z folks don't even look over.........

And I'm a snob for education and I loose respect for a kid who seems to have his priorities up his ****. (Unless his parents bought his car, because he is in school). That kid is oK in my book.

i bet some old timers think the same thing about your kids, no?
I personally wave, flash, or nod to any Z i see on the road...unfortunately i usually end up looking like an idiot..but its worth it when i get a salute back.

I didn't read the whole thread, but I for the mnost part do get a wave. I also wave to older generation Zs. I'm used to wave all type of roatries so I wave at anything that has a Z from Nissan/Datsun.

+1 billion to those who said "It's because you're in SoCal". Too many around here for anyone to care (it's like saying "Hey, how come Civic/Accord drivers don't wave to me when I'm in my Civic/Accord?").
And modded Z's? A lot of them as well. In fact, I'm always shocked when I see a stock Z with absolutely NOTHING done to it.

I live in the middle of 3 cotton fields. I have only seen 2 Z's in town over the past year and they don't really care if my Z is modded. Nissan people don't really have the comradery of Camaro, BMW or Jeep people (yup own(ed) all 3). Z people are a bit closer knit than others but although the 350Z has nice styling, it's really a popular car with an above average price.

You can never tell internal mods. My car is bone stock on the outside, hell anything could be.
But if wings and rims are the real mods, I don't see that as a reason to be snobby. I'd much rather have a good TT setup than a body kit and 19's yo.
