350Z or Boxter S/ Cayman S

Between a Boxster and a Cayman, I'd get the Cayman. Better structural rigidity/stiffness.
Cayman S will beat a base Z in a straight line, too as well as in the corners. And you can "restore" the Cayman to its pre-production potential with aftermarkets. Or, if you have $245k to spend, you can drop off your Cayman at Ruf for them to "buff it up a lil' bit" (440bhp).

Boxster... FTL... literally. I took a Boxster S down pretty easy from a 60-120+ (we weren't street racing... it was..uh.. a closed course... )
I like the Cayman a lot but if I could break down for a P car it's be a GT3... or maybe Carerra GT.

You're talking about german engineering here..and Porsche is known
for having the best chassis and laying down the most of their available hp to the road.
The 911 Carrera S with 'only' 355hp will reach 0-60 in 4.5 sec and will be faster
on the track than cars with more than 100hp more.

Y'all need to read "lightning lap" in the November '06 issue of Car and Driver.
On a 4.2 mile road course (Virginia International Raceway), the Cayman outperforms the Z.
But considering that it is over twice the price, the difference is not very significant. The Porsche turned in 3:09.5 lap time (av spd 79.8) and the Z turned in a 3:12.5 (av spd 78.5)
I think I 'd rather have 2 Zs than one Cayman. Maybe a coupe AND a roadster.

I would definately drive a cayman. If i were in the market for a 60K sports coupe that's what i'd have. Not a whole lot faster than the Z in a straight line, but it out handles and out refines the Z by quite a bit.

Actually, I looked at and considered the Cayman before I pulled the trigger on the Z. (I really am a big Porsche fan). It really was the only other car I seriously considered. I just couldn't convince my self that the Cayman was worth twice the price, or that the Cayman was worth the additional maintenance costs.

Make no mistake, I really liked the Cayman, it just wasn't worth more than twice what I paid for the Z.
If it had been maybe $12-15K more, I think I would have bought it. The Boxster would have been in the "acceptable" range, but I didn't want another roadster (not even a Porsche roadster)

if after watching the following video you are not convince on which car to get, then you fall into the former category. Enjoy the following video:

And I know it's been said thousands of times but, for performance, looks and value, you just can't beat the Z.
