I thought the same thing a while back...good luck buying an S model for less than 70K unless you get a stripper model with options is like 80K!!!!

They don't have LSD? Lol.

Nope, they purposely didn't fit one in the Caymen.
If they did it would be faster around the track then their 911.
So basically Caymen was released to simple fill the gap in the market;
it wasn't made quite as good as they could have.

You're right. So you agree with me then that the numbers of the car don't always matter correct?

I think the Caymen has it's own engine, it may have the same output but I think it has some different features.

I like the look of the Caymen. Saw a white Caymen S cruising along, looks good in white with the red brakes.

Cayman S FTW!

Too many "kids" here believe its all about power.

Im sorry, but there is no way in hell I would buy an RSX over a Cayman S if I had the money (directed toward a few people with no offense).

There's a reason Porsche's are so expensive.

Goodluck with your decision!

The 350z has excellent handling, but the Cayman S will destroy the Z in the handling/braking department.

It's a Mid-Engine RWD by the way...

You can't go wrong with either.

Either get the Cayman S, or buy the Z and use the extra 30k for mods.

3 seconds on a track is like 300-400 feet of separation on the straight. I'd say that's quite a bit.

I have read that Porsche are the top ranking manufacturers about making money on their cars. In other words, they rely on name, but they could sell them cheaper and still make money.

The Boxster and the Cayman use the same engines. The standard models use the 2.7L/245 HP engine, and the S models use the 3.4L/295 HP engine.

"On a 4.2 mile road course (Virginia International Raceway), the Cayman outperforms the Z.

... The Porsche turned in 3:09.5 lap time (av spd 79.8) and the Z turned in a 3:12.5 (av spd 78.5)"

The Porsche pulled .94g, the Z pulled .90g.
