I care because I'm competitive. I usually let the other guy rev or lurch first, then I know the games on... This way I don't look like the first one that has something to prove, LOL! That and my Z looks like it could ***** slap most other stock cars

See, it has nothing to do with competitiveness or wondering if my underdriven RA1 ones made any difference...
LolSeriously, the old guy took off like a mad man and it took my a while to figure out I was in a race...

From Porsche and Edmunds Website:
Cayman - 2867 lbs
Cayman S - 2955 lbs
From Nissan USA Website:
350Z Touring - 3400lbs
Ok, I was a bit off. I thought the 350Z weighs approx 3500lbs but it's 3400lbs. It's still a lot heavier than the Cayman S.
Porsche Cayman is 533lbs lighter than 350Z
Porsche Cayman S is 445lbs lighter than 350Z
Imagine if you could remove nearly 500lbs from the new 306hp 350Z. Now that would be a fairly fast car and that is what the Cayman S is. You still think the 350Z is the same in straight line?
Yes there is a 11hp difference between the new 350Z and the Cayman S but remember that the Cayman S has less drivetrain loss...thus I am negating those 11hp.
I have never seen a stock 350Z do 0-60 in 4.8 sec. I have seen anywhere from 5.4-5.7sec. The new 306hp 350Z will probably be 5.1-5.2. The Cayman S does 0-60 in 4.8 sec from several different sources.
Once again, the Cayman/Boxster S is equivalent to the E46 M3 which everyone on this board thinks is a fast car.
Handling is much better than E46, 350Z, S2000, you name it. It's a beautiful car and as much as you think it's way over-priced, it's actually worth it.

Some one mentioned insurance on here. I checked my policy and my 911 c4s cab is less then my 03 350z by about 12 bucks canadian. Just for what it is worth. But in all honesty both cars seem to get the same amount of looks!!!!

You can compare anything you want to. The reason why we're comparing is because the performance is similar although the price tag is not. Bang for the buck.
A 150k 997 turbo could most likely beat a 220k F430 both in stock form around a track. So the whole price thing doesn't play a big role when we are comparing these cars' PERFORMANCE aspects.
They are different prices for a reason. You are paying for the name, and you will obviously get more stares on the road with a Cayman than a commonplace Z.
Just as you would with an F430 as compared to a Turbo. The Turbo isn't exactly anything special to look at next to a Ferrari.
