Um. I bounce off the rev limiter all the time? Im sure its ok as long as you're accelerating up to redline. If you're downshifting and throwing your engine up to like 9000 rpm's that's a recipe for trouble.

+1. I keep my shift light at 6600, but have never had to run it up that high.

To the OP... I think you should be fine. As long as you don't make it a habit of hitting the rev limiter, and making the G-chip kick in, I think you should be ok. BTW, enjoy your Z, just not that much...

Only if you go beyond the rev limiter could it be an issue.

The car can run most of the day at redline and be just fine. Running all day at the rev limiter isn't wise, but the rev limiter is set below the point of engine destruction -- as long as you aren't FI.

OP...I don't think you hit the rev limiter from what you're describing. Sounds like you lost traction and TCS kicked in. Look it up and quit driving like an asshat.

^^ yeah i agree. I've hit the rev limiter and it doesn't feel like that. When you bounce off the limiter its very quick. TCS on the other hand can really cut the power for quite a while (relative to the limiter)

Ya i am trying to get use to it, i know what you mean, acceleration and speed is addicting, thats why i bough this car.
Was cruising on I95 and when I hit 100mph it all of a sudden shut off and Rev was set too 6200....thought I broke the car and wasn't sure what happen. I though these rice burners get up to 140 + mph....does anyone know if they do? I want to take it to a 1/4 mile track but I'm worried that it will happen again...Any advice?

No need to post about your issue on any additional threads where you see similar issues. We see everytime you post.
