Thumbs up New to the site, just a quick question

First off, I want congratulate y'all on a great online community. I've lurked for a little while and have read quite a bit on here and I'm really impressed. There is the occasional bad apple, but for the most part everyone is as helpful as possible. Keep up the good work!

I'm looking to purchase a Z in the next 3-4 weeks or so (as soon as I graduate) and will probably go with the Enthusiast trim level. It seems to be a good fit for the options that I want. Anyway, how willing are dealers to come down on the price or throw in various incentives/options? I know that every dealer is different, but based on your shopping experiences what would be a reasonable amount? I see that right now Nissan is offering a $500 cash discount for recent graduates, so I'll be taking full advantage of that

As you just said, it varies by dealer. I bought mine a bit over invoice, no haggling. I heard stories of other dealer's here not discounting at all!
There were some posts here not along about good/bad Nissan dealers in Houston. You might want to post on the Regional board for Texas and ask.
Good luck with the purchase!!

I'd like to go with a new car just for the peace of mind that I'll be the one breaking it in. Hopefully I can play the poor college kid card and get a good deal.

When you find the Z that you want, post the MSRP.

Same here man i bought it new so in my mind im the one breaking it in.And im the one taking care of it from the get go.I had a 03 touring used with 35,000miles when i bought yea it was nice and i had no tranny problems. But still nothing beats the feeling of having a car brand new and you take care of it the way you want. But anyways good luck on your find i have a enthusiast and love it.
