Default Valet Key...

So I tried turning my car on with the valet key....and it would ignite the starter, but it wouldn't actually start the engine...is there something I have to do in order for it to actually turn on?

The valet key should allow you to drive the car, but not unlock any of the various bins and such. There's an embedded microchip in the key itself that is keyed to the particular Nissan it goes to. If your Z is not starting, you may want that key checked by the dealer to make certain it is set up properly.

The key fits and engages the starter...but it never starts....as if the battery was dead.

The valet key has special notches cut into so so that you cannot use it to blow coke. Other than that, it's just like a regular key.

No wonder I can't get a key bump.

The key's code is scrambled. The dealer has to reprogram.

The valet key on the 350z seems silly to me. The only thing you can't do with the valet key is open the crappy little glovebox.

And a screwdriver provides a suitable replacement in that case.

not sure if its the same for you guys,
but the G comes with two keychains + a wallet key.
the wallet key is mainly if you lock yourself out somehow as it cannot start the car.

the other keys (driver and valet) should start the car, and the valet key will not unlock personal areas.
