- 20 mile minimum from the point of reset (start) on the mpg gauge
- < 100 ft elevation change from start to finish
- you must have an average speed of 65mph or higher.

Yeah, I tested my '07 on a highway while it was breaking in (@ ~500 miles) to see what gas mileage it got. I stopped varying my speed and reset the computer really quick... unfortunately, I couldn't resist trying to pass someone. I managed to get 30 mpg even though I accelerated to pass someone! This car's fuel consumption is better than the sticker states, for sure.

usually around 70mph on the highway gets me between 30-32. a best of 34.....and absolute best of 99.6 haha i reset it and then i was engine braking and the engine braking put it that high for a split second

If a challenge is started with your thread, some parameters should be set so everyone is dealing with the same thing. Say minimum of 20 miles, beginning elevation same or less than ending elevation, and I would say the start should be from a standstill so it's the same for all.
But, it's your thread DavidS. I don't want anyone calling me a green weenie.
