Default Just hit 60,000 tonight. Recap of problems to date

Thought I'd share the list of problems I've had had with my 03 up to now.

- Replaced transmission at 39,000. Grind into third
- Rear axle click at 45,000
- Window motor needed reset at 42,000
- Window grease on occasion. Seems to be random
- Only changed tires once. Rears at 51,000 and fronts at 58,000.
- Interior pieces such as radio controls and turn signal/wiper stems started to fade and discolor at around 55,000
- Only changed clutch once, was done with transmission at 39,000 but didn't even need it then.
-Oil changed every 3,000 or less with no signs of loss.
-Gas gauge is totally inaccurate, I've never put more than $50 in even when it's flashing "---" at me on the dte.
- Hatch hinges fail under cold temperatures
- Electric gas door has lost it's oomph to open at about 55,000. I now have to get a fingernail under it to open it.
- A/C is starting lose it's cool at about 55,000

Other than that, it's running pretty damn strong, and is ready to go F/I.

have you had problems with your rear hatch window vibrating? My 07 only has 9k miles on it and the rear hatch window vibrates pretty bad. Only thing that bothers me so far. Also, when you saw window motor had to be reset, does this mean replaced?

No, not replaced. It just was acting screwy whenever it was auto-closed. It'd always come back down a tad like something was caught in it.

And no, no other hatch problems. I have the rear window-wiper and dead-weight removed and even then nothing upset enough to cause rattling or squeaking.

The backing up part makes sense but it's nothing to do with the steering wheel. The stealership charged me $115 for the fix, although that was a while ago and may have been combined with an oil change or some other service. I never went for just one thing.

What about the cloth wearing/discoloring on the seats (usually reported on the outside side/bolster on the driver's seat)? I believe this is a common complaint on 2003 models with cloth seats.

It's really not that bad. I mean the seats are kind of plain to begin with, but if anything it just seems the threads are wearing thinner from being stretched, the color and shape are still perfect.

What do you mean by the hatch hinges failing? The only way I can see a hinge fail is if the hatch/door falls off...

Default Fix for gas filler door

Two things : 1 . Hit the little black plastic lever that releases the gas filler door with some WD-40 oil every now and then ,working the lever in and out with the the oil on it , 2. before you get out of the car , hit the release button 3-4 times in a row . After a while , you don't even have to oil it hardly at all . It will open every time....

When you press the button to open the hatch, it pops, but not the whole way. you have to hit the button a second time while pulling the hatch up with your hand. its annoying.

ive probably experienced half to three quarters of the problems on that list. those are the more common ones.

That is a latch issue, not a hinge!

It should be adjustable fairly easily.

No, I was talking about the hinge. It will not support the weight of the hatch under 45 degree temperature.

Also, yea the latch sucks.

Then it's the struts you're refering to!

The hinges are the things around which the tail gate rotate, near the roof...
