Question Are you too obsessive compulsive about the condition of your Z?

Is there a reason the some people find fault in the way you keep your Z clean????

I hear...

"Are you washing it again?"
"Are you waxing it again?"
"why are you washing the wheelwells?"
"Do you really have to clean the inside part of the wheels?"
"Why are you waxing the wheels?"
"gee...I've never seen anyone clean their license plate"
"why are you under the car wiping/cleaning things?"
"why are you wiping the engine compartment?"

I say....

"Get yer butt off my fender...."
"Get yer dirty oily hands off my paint..."
"Stop leaving garbage in my car..."
"Get the hell away from the car..."
o O (did that jerk have to park so close to my car?)
"Don't slam the door!...the door works fine..."
"Don't kick the side of the door/car when you get in"

(I could go on forever...but you get the idea...)

I Don't know...MAN! is it just me?...am I @nal or what?
Yes! I must be...but damn, I paid for the car...I want it to be nice...
I'm not a "take yer shoes off before you get in" type of maniac....but I expect "others" to respect my pride and joy....

is it me???? or are there others "out there" that have the same issues???

(thanks for the rant!)

I love my car and have dumped $10,000 into it so far but for some reason I've never really bothered to OCD on the cleanliness. Seems a bit... girly to me. I just give it a once-over and a good wheelscrub every few days and as long as I don't go mud-bogging or it doesn't rain, it's still the same.

I used to wash it a couple times a week and keep it pretty clean

then roommates girlfriend backed into the drivers side door (hello 2k in damage) after spending all day putting Zaino on and its just not the same even though its fixed now

i just dont have the motivation to keep it as clean now if its just going to get hit

i still wash it and keep it looking decent

I park mine in the garage and drive it maybe once or twice a week. What do ya'll do about the dust that collects on the car and don't really feel like washing it. Any special type of duster or cloth to get rid of that dust?

I love my car. I treat the things I love well
Besides, I consider it as a part of my image. To me a dirty car is similar to not shaving, wearing dirty clothes, or not taking showers.

im the same way
my car is black so i have to show people how to close it without getting fingerprints on it
i tell people not to lean on it
and nothin gets me more when some stupid girl flops my sunvisor up an lets it slam after she looks at herself in the mirror

things that are odd that i clean in/on my car:

1. the carbon outta the exhuast tips
2.the innerside of my wheels
3. the little windows behind the headrests
4. the inside of my mirrors, i hate sitting in the car an there be dirt or waterspots on the inside of my mirrors
5.everything in my engine bay gets a wipedown
6.fluids check every 1500 miles or so
7. plastic polish on my headlights every other time i drive it
8. wipe the wiper blade metal part with armor all (makes it shiney)
9. the bottom of the exhuats because you can see it from behind the car

other than that i do the normal washing
i also dust my car as soon as i get to town, i pull to the bottom parking lot of a bank on the edge of the town and wipe the dust off my wheels and dust the car down
also i use dupont spray wax/detailer everytime i wash it

had the car for a little over a year now

As far as the topic at hand:

No man, it's not you. I'm the same way. I yelled at my girlfriend for putting a cold cup of Caramel Frappacino on the roof, since her hands were busy. I told her I didn't want the water from the cup leaving a spot, and then dirtied my shirt as I carefully got rid of the water.

I also don't let people lean on my car. Ever. Basically, just don't touch my car unless you're reaching for the door handle to go somewhere with me.
