I dont know if any of you guys have noticed this. but i was doing a brake stand and everything was fine.. then i try it again in the same spot but i couldnt get the tires to spin.. does traction control automaticly turn back on?
I think he is talking about preloading the drive train for best 1/4 mile times, pretty standard technique for drag racing with an AT. I would not describe it as gunning the engine, but rather holding the car in place with the brake while maintaining an elevated RPM with the gas pedal preloading the drive train, followed by releasing the brake and stomping on the gas pedal on go. The object to adjust the RPM before launch to get a little chirp off the line, not spinning the tires going no where.
Stepping on the brake and gas at the same time can confuse some cars forcing the car into safety mode thus the post about taking out the brake fuse so the car does not know that you are braking and hitting the gas at the same time. You can mod the Z AT with a high stall torque converter to allow more RPMs at launch.
If you are on the brakes, throttle is cut regardless of model (with or without TCS or VDC).
As alluded to above, if you pull the brake light fuse, the ECU will not pull power, and you can spin them all you like. Keep in mind, your brake lights wont work either.
I get them to spin but for some reason this one time i couldnt get them to the second time.. And i work at Americas tire so i can get peoples used tires for free so tires aint a problem.
