Did you order from a daeler in the Hamilton outside A.C.?
The General Manager said the ship docks in Port Elizabeth, NJ thurs. and delivery should be within 2 weeks of that. He could be full of it, would'nt be the first time. I'm just glad to know the car is built and will be here sooner rather than later.

It is Elkins.. in Shreveport, LA.. BUT you are right..there is an Atlanta Tx.. I live in Atlanta GA.. IN Feb. the dealers around here wanted 2k above MSRP.. i went to were my parents live and got wtih Elkins.. Any word on your Z?

Scaf: Just got an e-mail from my dealer in reply to my inquiry about my vin. I turns out that after I called him on it, he looked up my VIN again and I do indeed have an "E" and NOT an "F". Please correct it in "The Soup" so I can join the ranks. Now I have a REAL VIN....YEEEEHAAAAW!

 

Finally got a tracking number but not from my dealer of course

Finally! I was beginning to worry - I called my dealer on Monday hoping for the best, and he had no info for me. I was pretty bummed, to say the least! However, later that night my wife called me (I am out of town on a business trip) to tell me the good news - we now have a VIN number and an expected arrival date! Its about damn time! However, with the good always comes the bad - my car will arrive in September when I am out of town! I have waited 9 months for this car, and now I won't even be there to see it roll into the dealership and off the truck! Man, does that blow horse! The dealer already knows this and said he would put it in the showroom (locked, of course, with no test drives or touching allowed) until I return, but man, is that gonna be one hard business trip to concentrate on! Here is my info:

Ordered: January 15th
Model: Daytona Blue Touring 6MT, Navi, kickplates, floor/trunk mats
Expected delivery: September 9th (plus or minus 2 days)

By the way, I have found that unfortunately, some people are not nearly as well informed as most of us. I stopped by the local Nissan place here in Ohio on my business trip (don't wanna say where - not really my place, and their pre-orders are obviously sold out), but the guy I talked to told me they sold ALL their pre-orders at $2000.00 over MSRP!! Man, either these people didn't know better, or didn't shop around, cause I know most of us on here refused from day 1 to pay over MSRP - we just went elsewhere. I guess some places and dealers will get away with murder, given the chance!!

I am not from Ohio, ariZona, but in response to the Ohio dealer's statement of all over MSRP by $2000, I hope you are not implying you BELIEVE what the dealer says with respect to this.

 

Just talked to my dealer. Still no VIN, even though they were expecting them this morning, but didn't get them. Here's what I have so far:

What did the dealer say when you tried to get the VIN from them? I've asked my dealer twice and have not gotten a VIN even though they are still projecting a late August to early September delivery. If ZISME is right about the timing of VIN assignments, which I assume he is, either my dealer should have access to the VIN on the reports ZISME mentioned, or the ETA is wrong. Just asking so I can decide whether to call the dealer a third time, try NNA, or try ZISME. Looking for the path of least resistance here to determine whether the ETA window is still looking good.
