secondly, who is in here talking trash? i think i can speak for 99% of Z enthusiasts when i say that we love the Z, regardless of the year.

lastly, you must come to the realization that the 07 IS INDEED faster (stock vs stock) than previous models. i am sure when the new Z comes out, it will be faster than the 07. that is just how it is.

now go take a Midol.

so you're saying that some people can't drive? dude, it's an auto! unless you mean the other Zs he said he beat, in which case, they may have been autos too.

either way, tell him his Dude Card is revoked for buying an auto Z. unless he only has one leg due to the fact that he joined the Army, went to war, ran across the battlefield with only a plastic spoon, stabbed 100 enemy troops to death with it and on his way back, got into a rumble with Godzilla and lost it (but still won the fight).

I would think a guy in an 07 shifting a bit too soon would lose the advantage the 07 engine has right? If yer friend is in his auto and using the manual shift mode maybe hes shifting too soon (I test drove one and the lag was a little hard to judge) and thats why yer winning. So you take away the high rev advantage he has, add on the gearing, power loss and weight advantage you have and you win.

he had it on regular drive, and just held the pedal down id assume.

i love how all the 07 driver post the same thing lol.

"he's not driving the auto correct" haha.

its pretty easy to drag race with an auto. i dont think hes stupid.

and obviously weight has to do with it, this is about the 04 track Z vs an auto 07 Z

Nissan is just trying to throw in some retro looks like all the other car companies are doing these day. The Z is so fresh a design I think they muck it up with that design on the hood. I think it shoud be raised for clearance but without changing the overall shape with one way heat extractors or something. That means fender changes as well.

You asked 'Does anyone know why this is?' And the 07 drivers gave their opinions, all of which seemed pretty legit to me. You say you ASSUME he held the pedal down, and you dont THINK hes stupid. I say never underestimate the stupidity of your friends.

It seems you know all the answers so enjoy your fame of beating an AT car.

I have a couple of friends with older 350's and I can say I have won the majority of the 1/4 mile races against them no matter the trans....It's a drivers race, even if he had a MT, that doesn't mean he would have automatically won.

no, it should have been no contest.. even the 04 factory freaks with pro drivers run like a 13.6-7 at BEST the NORMAL time with a good driver on the 07's is a 13.4-5... and thats COMMON the common on 03-05 is 14+.. he should have stomped you pretty easily.

I have weighed my 07 at the track couple times. Everytime I would weigh it in around 3390 pounds. Full interior, quarter tank of gas, spare and jack kit in the rear, and my 200pound ***.
Take me out you're seeing 3190pounds. Published numbers are always inflated.

HERE IS FOR ALL THE AUTO HATERZ AND THINK THAT YOU GUYS CAN DRIVE MANUALS.

FASTEST STOCK TIMES FOR 03-06 Z 1/4 MILE TIMES:
(1) Veetec --------------------------04 Base 6spd 13.640@102.42mph 1.983 60ft Verified
(2) DomZ --------------------------- 03 Tour Auto 13.667@101.57mph 1.996 60ft VerifiED

AUTO'S ARE SO MUCH SLOWER? DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU TALK. ALSO THE 03 IS A TOURING MODEL SO IT IS HEAVY AS HELL.

why is there so much crying about this, honestly?

a 6spd with a good driver IS faster, period. the 07s are faster than the previous cars, period. *this is based on stock cars, so save the whole "my 04 with x amount of mods can beat stock 07s" crap*

also keep in mind that the auto in the 07s limits the new engine a bit since it only revs out to 6600rpms.

I,M STILL WAITING FOR AN ANSWER TO MY ABOVE POST, SOMEONE THANKS!

As you can see if you have a very good manual driver and very good auto driver the difference is very minimal actually the race would look like a tie if you were spectating the race. The 6 speed is a little faster by very little with two good drivers as you can see above. Also consider the 6 speed was a base and the auto was a heavy *** touring model im sure he could of made the difference in time up with taking those heavy *** seats out and speaker. I would like for someone to show me some factual evidence that the 6 speed is so much faster with two very good drivers please. If you ask me the only person that should be able to talk about slow auto z should be veteec since he is the only driver that is able to beat the fastest auto z stock time.
