First of all, 03'-06' Z more torque than 07', on top of that older Zs are lighter. I think older Z runs 0-60 in 5.6. But it really depends on the driver.
In high speed new Zs are probably faster, if both cars are stock. I am not sure, cause I never ran with other Zs before( feels kind of funny to race the same car as me, although many stock Zs like to drove fast fly pass me like they are NasCar driver.)

auto haters stop *****ing and 07 haters stop *****ing the 07 has the best engine and will win auto or not against an earlier year of course thats stock. I'm sure if you race your friend and you drive his car and he drives your car you will still win. I know it sounds shocking but some people don't even know how to properly drive an auto fast. I have seen this first hand.

 

I have an 07 auto and raced an 04 track; smoked him bad and he had headers catback and intake, I was stock and even had my girl friend in the car for extra weight......I made him pop his hood to make sure he had all that crap done, I didnt believe him....he could drive, I mean really drive too.....but dont take my word for it......go race an 07 get your feelings hurt. unless your fairly modded. by the way we all love the Z why fight over whose **** is bigger their is always some one else that has a bigger one.

bottom line , a HR motor stock for stock will beat out any previous Z. This is fact.

Have you guys realized that this is at 6 pages....

You drive a manual (shift time ftw) he drives an auto with longer gears and i'm sure you probably noticed if you took off in first that you were in second like 1-2 seconds before he was...

Someone posted earlier about a 13.3 on a manual 07'... what??!?! when did this happen? is that on racing slicks? because last time i raced a LanEvo (a car that does run a 13.3 +- a few tenths) i got my a** kicked. The HR cars can't be that much faster, considering most people buy them with the leather and bose systems.

 

i know ur trying to sound like a very responsible owner to the Z. but dont sound like u never press the gas down all the way everytime u take it out...

or theres no need to have those mods u have under ur sig.
