I think the lady in the blue dress is going to punch him in the throat.
the article I saw didn't list the one kid's name and the other was John. you would think they would say 'the driver and passenger'

media = fail

Let’s just pray for the family of the moped rider. Heck, I’ll even pray for the dumb a$$ driver; hopefully he learned a lesson and won’t kill anyone else.
the only comment worth reading. just cuz the parents bought him a z doesn't mean the parents "deserve a beating." he may even be a decent kid that just made a (very monumental) mistake. This just goes to show that we are all ONE mistake away from this kid right here, whether it be accidentally running a red light, or looking for your phone as a kid jumps out in front of you. next time, it will probably be one of you insensitive *******s that make a mistake, and you'll be the one that everyone is talking about.

he's gonna get whats coming, so don't worry all you *******s that want his see his *** burn in hell, he'll get burned (at least in the court)

Agree. When dad gets sued and loses his house, he might think twice about letting his son drive the Z.

This is Florida. No one but the IRS can take your house, unless you have more than one. However, they can take any other assets.

I was not aware you can get a license at 16. wow. bad idea for most people.

actually, most people shouldn't even have a license at 21.
I think the kid crying is the driver of the Z

Very true, because you can only race in Z's and not slow cars like a civic.

Really sad... Damn and when I was 16 I thought my volvo s70 was fast! Wonder if I could have potentially killed anyone if I had a Z. I could never live with the fact that I killed someone.

What a shame for the guy on the moped. He didn't deserve that. You can't tell me that if any of you had a chance to drive one at 16 you wouldn't. The kid will pay the price, of not only living with the fact that he killed someone, but in court as well.

Its not the car, its the idiot behind the wheel. You could have had a ferarri when you were 16. That doesnt mean you would have been more likely to kill someone with it.
The fact is, this kids going to have to live with the fact that he killed someone. Not to mention the kid's new, long relationship with the court system.
P.S. That kid looks like an absolute douche.

I don’t know about where you guys live, but unfortunately, this is just one instance of a systemic problem around here. Near same thing just happened with Hulk Hogan’s kid in nearly the same area. Every time I drive through Tampa or Orlando, I get some punk numb nut wanting run me. I’m just down right sick of it and now we have another grieving family because of it.

I live about 15 miles outside of Tampa “where this took place” and I see people driving like total idiots around here all the time. Must be something in the salt water.

I have to take I-4 in my daily commute to and from work. I-4 is the main Interstate here in Florida connecting Tampa, Orlando and Daytona. I see some outrages sh*t nearly daily. And yes, I must admit that 99% of it is kids that just don’t have a clue how dangerous going 100mph “weaving in and out of lanes” down an Interstate full of tourist families going to Disney World is.

It’s somewhat a rare occurrence, but what makes me fume is when I see a Z driver being an idiot. It makes us all look bad and I just want to bi**ch slap the MFer.

Flaming this kid has one social purpose. Perhaps the next time a guy reading this is driving around, thinking about showing off in front of his buddy, he'll remember an accident like this, and how much the driver was raked over the coals by everyone, and maybe he'll think twice about driving like an idiot.

You're right, kinda...

When I posted the original link to the original story the "Town Hall Meeting" story wasn't yet available. You're right that the Town Hall story correctly says what the car was but the original story "Westchase Moped Accident" (which is still posted about 3 stories down) is from last night where a female reporter called it a Lexus.

In all the links posted here, I have yet to see where it says he was racing. They all say the driver lost control of the car.
