Thumbs down Socalbreeze Screwed me for $180

I was hopping it would not come to this, but here it comes:

I purchased Nismo Replica Side skirts from forum member Socalbreeze.

This was about a month ago. Socalbreeze could not provide me with photos of the parts but assured me they are made out of ABS Plastic & are a perfect fit. He said if the parts are not perfect he will take them back.
Sounded like a good deal so i went for it.
I was also promised the side will go out the next day after my paypal payment.

----------------

1. It took over 3 weeks for me to get the sides.
I was very patient and only contact the seller after the 1st week of waiting.

2. Seller would not provide me with a tracking number untill the sides already came.

3. After 2.5 weeks seller told me the sides were shipped, but the ups tracking number showed the package was actualy shipped a few days after the told date.

4. Sides came, but they were not ABS plastic as described, they were Fiberglass.

5. Test fitted the sides and the fit was way off.

6. Sides were not properly packaged and the edges were chipped.

I contacted the seller as soon as i opened the package.
Told him that the sides were clearly made out of Fiberglass.
He response was that the side had a sticker on them stating they are made out of ABS plastic.
I am pretty sure that anybody who is on this forum as long as he is would know the difference between ABS and Fiberglass.
And I didn't see any sticker attached to the parts.

After test fitting I contacted the seller again and informed him on the sides not fitting the car.
He refused refund!

I am a very patient & reasonable person and gave the seller tons of time to respond.

Since our conversations came to a dead end, I decided to post the problem on the forum.

If Socalbreeze would like to defend himself, i am here to listen.

All the conversations, paypal payment date, ups shipping date are available.

If it's been over 30 days, you are SOL with Paypal. Sucks bro. Hopefully you can come to some resolution. If the item is not as described, the seller should honor his word and refund you. GL.

Nah. Good luck with it. Read their policies.

As for replica, expect to modifiy it a bit. Any body can do it. MOST replicas are fiberglass. Only some made by Shine Auto is ABS.

Thank you for support.
I contacted Paypal after 3 weeks and let them know that the parts didn't come in.
Now I have to wait for them to clear that case, so I can start the second issue.

I personally dont like fiberglass. ABS plastic construction is the only reason I purchased these.

That is wrong what he did to you. I agree, a somewhat dumb person would even know what ABS plastic and what is fiberglass. I just read his forsale thread on it and it definitely says ABS. He should refund your money with shipping. I, myself, hate fiberglass as well. Over the years, it's just going to crack and mess up on you.

Thank you. That is the exact reason I only wanted ABS plastic.
Here is his Original thread:
https://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=303460

This is what he stated in the sale:

"I got a set of Nismo replica sideskirts from ABS Plastic. Brand new, never painted I want $200 OBO plus shipping. Local socal pick up is preferred though. tks for looking"

"1. They are Ver. 1 sorry I dont have a pic of them since my girl gots my digicam. But I have them, brand new and if you are worried just check out my itrader ratings. I've done deals over 2k before. If you need to know what they look like you may search the forum.

2. The fitment is perfect, I've put it on my Z and check the fitment."

I personally know SUNSETSUNRISE and i saw the sides in person the day they came in. They are made out of fiberglass and were in fact chipped in several places since the shipper put both sides together rather then individually wrapping each one.

Upon test fitting them, we did see some warping issues and they were not as perfect as the seller stated. Although the warping could be fixed by a shop. THe statement the fitment is perfect is a bit of an overstatement.

The damage is minimal.
And from what i understand in Fiberglass is reparable.

Chipped FG is the least of my concern.....

I was promised ABS and sent fiberglass!

hate to tell ya, but your SOL now. Unless paypal has changed their policy in the last year, you can only file 1 claim per transaction.

How i know:
bought a bumper off ebay. Paid 100 dollars to ship it from TN to here. The ******* asshat shipped it via greyhound for 40 bucks. I dont live at greyhound and the nearest one is 40 mins away. I filed a item never received case. I canceled the case and picked up the bumper. Got there and it was in horrible shape. the seller said it was in 'great' condition. I filed an item not as described claim, it was immediately closed and i lost. I was out 250 bucks for a pos bumper. This ******* does it all the time on ebay knowing someone files the first claim, he then ships. When they go to file the next claim, it gets shut . Scammer and con artist.

I am sorry about your deal, man!
I dont think you cant get a refund because I think that he is long gone now...
But who knows...

To add to this issue: thats why I, and many members in here, want to see pictures of the items before making a purchase, EVEN with OEM parts that being sold. Some people keep saying that "its an oem part, EVERY ONE knows what that looks like" or "I would pay for parts UNSEEN." etc.
But people might not send you what it's supposed to be, especially when its used, right?!
