Opinions on Dealer issue
SO I bought the 350z 2 months ago and well in NJ like most other states I needed to get it inspected. Make a long story short its an 04 that was originally a florida car hence not inspected in NJ. So I take it to get inspected and fails for the tint. Now I would think the dealer would need to fix that? I spoke to the deush that sold me the car and hes like oh that sucks, guess you gotta take it off. Personally the tint was done bad and needs to be redone but I rather the dealer remove the tint or just straight up pass it themself somehow. What are your ideas on this? OR legally what are my rights with this if there is any?

I had a similar situation some years ago. I live in Missouri and bought a used 1984 300ZX from a dealer in Missouri and it would not pass the Missouri state inspection due to the tint on the driver's and passenger's door windows.
Not a big deal. I soaked them up with Windex then scraped the tint off with a razor blade scraper.

you could look into the vehicle and traffic law of your state. in NY, dealers are prohibited by law from selling a car that is not in compliance with the law. if that is also true in NJ, then you could file a complaint with the DMV and the dealership would have no recourse. this, of course, may not be worth due to the time it would take.
a simpler way, besides taking it off yourself, could be to find a "friendlier" shop to perform the inspection.

In PA you can get a fine for tint, but they cannot fail an inspection for it. Not a safety violation issue.
Take it to a different shop. Or just peel the tint off yourself. Have fun over the defrosters and getting the glue off

When I was in law school, I worked part time at the NYS DMV Appeals Board, so I accumulated a good amount of knowledge about the NY Vehicle and Traffic Law. You could probably find this info after some searching on the NJ DMV website.
