Mustard: What did you dyno on? The standard around here is a Dyno Jet, I believe. No Dynapack, no Mustang.

Dyno Dynamics! Yeah I know Dyno jet is the industry standard but I heard (granted this heresay) that dyno dynamics gives more accurate numbers! I did the dyno to get a baseline so that when I started throwing on bolt-ons I would have something to work off of! There were also I bunch of other Z's dynoing that day, so I had numbers to compare to as well!

Here's the pic:

I have an '03 base and i swear it is a freak of nature also. I never rule out driver error, but i have taken several Z's from '03-'05. I can't say much about the new ones since an '07 pulled on me a little in 3rd gear around 70mph. Might be my mods, might be my l33t shifting skillz

b00b00,
Lemme drive your car again dude! I want to ping second gear against the rev limiter and see your speed. I believe you may have a 3.7 or maybe even a 3.9. I remember we hit 60 mph in 2nd gear, but it was pretty much at redline. Check out this graph. You're not supposed to be above 6000 rpm at 60 in 2nd. This simple mechanical change has been reported to make the Z run 0-60 in less than 5 seconds and 1/4-mile mid 13's.

Believe me, people! This car rips through 1, 2, and 3 waay faster than my 05.

Call me! My phone screen is dead, so I can't see who I'm calling!

This explains it all. K&N use an air filter oil on their filters that contain a small amount of N2O in it. This is sucked in from the air filter and into the engine, causing higher power. This have been dyno proven.

Top speed in 2nd gear with 3.538 final drive @6600rpm is 62mph, only variable would be a non-stock tire with a different overall diameter.

yea noones gonna believe a street racing story unless you have a 1/4 timeslip to back it up. to me it sounds like the placebo effect. I once thought our 350z really fast back in 04 when i first got my first Z. Went to a road race course got put in check by a corvette and better yet a race spec mazda miata in the turns. Bottom line. Your car is as fast as it wants to be in a street race but when you run a 14.0 in teh 1/4 then you truley know its really circumstances lmao.

This is from my stock 05 base. Just in case anyone thinks this is due to the dyno, the stock 03 (touring 6MT) that pulled off of the same dyno, minutes before my pulls, got a 234.7 IIRC.

Actually racing on a track, and street is a whole different story.

and no, it's just a coincident that you beat other Zs. there is a lot of factors involved.
+1 stock 01 cobra not fast.

Drag strip, ehh, not a fan....the one around here is only 1/8 mile....and it sucks. our old 1/4 mile track got shut down b/c it sucked.
Ahh the joys of living in west texas, the barren land.

racing on the street vs strip can be very different too. Be pleased with your wins.
