Actually he got the exhaust used from a member on svtperformance.com. One of the headers had a crack in it and had to be re-welded, Also had to have custom flanges made to hold the exhuast and gaskets to keep it from leaking. He spent $100 on new CUSTOM flanges, "that was for 2"; And another $50 to weld the header leak. And those prices INCLUDED taking the exhaust of and re-mounting it, which we all know, shops charge for. I know what it would cost to fix it, and im offering to, i don't see the problem still. I could understand if i said "well you're ****ed, take the exhaust or leave it, im not offering you anything, have fun trying to fix it." But that's not the case.

If a buy were to do that, it is his fault, but he KNEW there was a leak before he left and he still didn't call me before he left or have it fixed BEFORE he left. Also, I already stated that i NEVER said he wasn't aloud in the shop or to look at the exhaust. Are you guys telling me you think he's stupid enough to buy something without even LOOKING AT IT?! If you drove 5 hours you wouldn't even look at the product before it was put on your car?! HE NEVER asked to go into the shop and look at it, he got there and i had to go to work, i figured if there was a problem, i would get a phone call, THAT DAY. I figured he would look at the product before having it INSTALLED ONTO HIS CAR. I don't see any logic here with any of your arguments.

My sentiments exactly, but being the man i am, im STILL OFFERING after he's bashed my name and all this other drama to FIX the exhaust. I don't see the ****in problem. If i wanted to scam him, i would never respond to anything, i wouldn't respond to his text messages, i wouldn't have responded in this thread, i wouldn't have offered to fix ANYTHING. But instead of waiting to TALK TO ME like any normal human being would do, he went off on a tangent and threw a hissy fit, over a broken flange and a scratched canister on a USED exhaust system. This is TOTALLY ridiculous.

Like if its easy to give away 700 dollars on used P.O.S. exhuast. He shouldn't throw a hissy fit. It's only 700 dollars.

It should have never come to this, he should have looked at it at the shop. or talked to me over the phone when i said i would call him and we co uld have worked something out. What's ridiculous is my name being blasphemed without even giving me a chance to refund his money or offer to fix anything. I didn't even see these pictures until they were brought on this forum, making it the first time i had seen these "problems." I still have my text messages from him saying he didnt like the sound, and i even offered to have it polished before he started complaining that it was scratched up. Because i knew, it was scratched, being as i drove around on it for 6+ months and i knew i bottomed out more than a couple times on speed bumps among other things.

The only way to fix this is giving him his money back and you taking back the exhaust.

I've stated this once and ill do it again, the only time the exhaust was taken off my car was to be put on his car. i never looked at it. Had he been patient and waited a week i would have had the exhaust off and been able to take pictures for him, and this wouldn't even be a situation at this point. I dropped my car and new exhaust off at the shop. Mine was taken off placed aside and my new one was put on and my car was driven outside of the shop by my mechanic. I never saw my exhaust, i figured if there was a problem, he would have called me while i was at work or on my way. I had no idea there was a broken flange. Which is the only real "PROBLEM". And im offereing to fix the flange and even have the canister polished so it doesn't look so bad, which has nothing to do with performance. I don't see how i'm a SCAM ARTIST, like you guys keep saying. The scratches aren't even visible from behind the car, you can only see them with the exhaust OFF, which i NEVER saw.

Agreed...be a man and do the right thing. The OP is still out the gas and $50 and you are out nothing. And make yourself look like a standup guy that does the right thing.

+1. Be a respectable seller and offer to buy back the product.

I'm out my reputation and $700 if i decide to refund him completey for his negligence. I don't see how offering to completely repair the exhaust is not being "stand-up". All these posts are full of flawed logic.

Kay,

So it's his fault for letting you trick him in to buying a screwed up exhaust basically. You saying "he should have gone back and looked at the exhaust" doesn't do well for your argument.

It just makes it seem like you knew about the damage and are now throwing it in his face that HE was responsible for catching that the exhaust was messed up. But because he didn't, you got away with it and he's out $700.00

I'm not passing judgement because really I couldn'y care ANY less, I just suggest you reword some of things you are saying because you look like a jackass.

I'm saying i never saw the condition, thus anyone with a brain would have looked at it before leaving or having it installed. I've looked like a "jackass scammer" from the get go, being as he's saying i scammed him, and putting words in my mouth. I.E. "you are not aloud to go into the shop or look at the exhaust" If i were him and i heard that out of someone's mouth i would have said, "**** you, give me my money back, or let me see the product."

Before he spoke to me about the condition he already went on here causing drama and spreading blaspheme of my name. I already stated had he told me before he left the shop, OR before he posted these threads ruining my name i would have refunded him. Now this is principle.

either way, im done trying to help the buyer, he's escalated the complaint to a claim and it's now under investigation. This will work itself out through factual evidence.
