FI would be a logical choice.

I'm please with the auto. I had a manual 91 300zx for years as a matter of fact all my cars were manuals. My left calf ached for years from all the stop and go traffic from the ZX. Just to drive an AT was a relef. When I purched the Z, I just wanted something a little different and best of both worlds. So I purchase my first automatic Z in 2003. I know at time there was a lot of issues with manual transmissions. I never worried, never no issues. At this moment my car is at the tuner for a new tune. Hopefully this time I'll hit the 400whp mark on a nonbuilt motor with a some goodies I just purchased. Yes, I know there is a certain percentage you loose due to having an automatic....nature of the beast. My tuner told me that if I had an Manual I would have hit that mark the first time without the goodies...so at the time I settled for 381whp. Still not bad for a supercharged auto nonbuilt motor and I dont plan on building the internals. That isn't my goal. I just wanna hit 400 then I'm happy. Oh and with valve body upgrade along with the extra power...it is alot fun on tap. Bottomline, whatever floats your boat bros....enjoy and be safe...

aloha!

I gotta say the 350z's auto tranny is really good. miles ahead of honda's or toyota's sportronic systems. i owned a 2001 prelude and a 2002 celica both with their sports shift autos. while i currently drive my 6mt Z since 03, i drove my friend's 06 5at a couple of weeks ago. and i gotta say it actually surprised me how well the at works.

I remember driving my moms 86 camry in 1st and 2nd so I could make it sound like I was driving manaul.. I also would reach down and time the AT shift points to make it look/feel like I was shifting. ZOMG what 17yo a dooche. LoL.

Conclusion: A/t is for soccer moms, old folk, or lazy people, or handicappables.

M/T definately does get a little boring when your just looking to get form point a-b. . .and not powning poor unsuspecting people off the stoplights.

I've got an '07 auto roadster, touring edition. I have a lot of traffic to drive through living in Atlanta, so it's perfect for me. The sports shift is enough for my MT kick and I rarely ever use it. Having had a MT before I won't forget the lesson I've learned sitting in stop-and-go traffic. Also AT gives me time to focus on other things, particularly the woman next to me

I was fortunate enough for the dealer allowed me to drive an AT for a few days, and then a MT for a few days. My preference was for the MT.

I respect that it all boils down to personal preference.

I was looking for an Auto for the past two months because of my wife. Happened to get a deal on the MT. Although I've been driving in a lot of NYC traffic, I'm glad I went with the MT. I don't think the Auto would have been this fun.

I actually used to rent 350z's now and again from Hertz back in 2006, and I don't remember the Auto being as fun to drive, now that I have and am driving the MT.

to me, an automatic Z is odd. Kinda like a limosine with a manual tranny would be odd
