Default Is this safe? Please help

Ive been going nuts with my Z today.
I cant seem to figure this out.
Cant find anything in the manual to help either.

Here is my dilemma. . . .
There are no anchors on the seats? Wierd. I thought all new cars did?
So I put my one month olds baby seat in, but I dont know if its in tight enuff? The seat just doesnt feel like its a good fit.
Do I need one of those racing seats?
Is this normal?

How does this look?
I wanted to take him for a ride today because its nice out, but wanted to double check on safety. Someone told me I can take it to the State police baracks near me and they will check it out?

Please help ASAP. He is soo excited to go for a ride he spit up on himself!!!!

My '07 has a child seat anchor under the hatch carpet just behind the passenger side rear speaker.

Whats wrong with having him in the car? He's a month old now and theres an air bag. His seat is backwards. I heard as long as its backwards and there is an airbag its all good

Just one as far as I know.. and I believe your passenger side air bag should be OFF for child safety... no? I don't really know these things I'm to young to be spawning around.

^^ I would never place a child in the "death seat."

Check the statistics.

Why risk driving with your child in the passenger seat of a sports car? So what if it is a nice day, take him out in the minivan, sure he won't mind... if I saw someone on the road with a child's seat in the front of any car I would tell them a piece of my mind, honestly, is that even legal in most states?

yeah, i know you are excited to take him for a ride, but seeing as how kids are not supposed to be in the front seat at all, i dont think going for a ride in a 2 seater sports car is a good idea...

and that seat configuration is incredibly deadly. facing backwards with an airbag is horrible. airbag goes off, pushes baby to the back of seat and smashes him/her. or it just crushes their head.

i would suggest keeping the child in the hummer in this scenario...

no offense, but you can't be serious?! first, you would take someones advice on here for the safety of your child?! There are many smart people on here, but I wouldn't trust someone on an internet forum with my kids safety. And second, kid in front seat=air bag off. I don't know the age, but if you have ever looked at someone after an air bag went off, you would not want your child anywhere NEAR an airbag.

just some FYI, check this site out:
http://www.usa.safekids.org/tier3_cd...&folder_id=170

should answer some of your questions.

damn man come on, no kids in the front, dunno about your state, but it's against law in PA, i think 10 and under no front seat
pretty sure same for jersey

i look at that one pic, with the baby seat up against the dash

imagine if the air bag deployed....
we're not talking about a small balloon here, we're talking a very large air bag, punching out of the dash board faster than you can blink your eyes...

do yourself a favor, take the baby seat out of the sports car and back into the SUV

EDIT: just checked with the wife, 12rs old and under, no front seat (i believe all states)

Having the airbag with the potential to go off makes it very unsafe for baby carseats. I've seen threads on here describing how to get the airbag disconnected.

Not worth it for sure.

All unsafeness aside, there's an entire section in the owner's manual about anchoring the carseat.

There are warnings all over the place not to place a rear facing car seat in the passenger's seat. Just look at the pictures in your car. They show you NOT to do this. Regardless of the airbag, it is illegal and unsafe.

I have 3 kids, and occasionally, the older two get a quick ride down the street, but their 6 and 4. I would never put a rear facing seat in the car.

Additionally, it does not look like it is tight enough. Even without a latch, a car seat should be tight enough that you can barely get it to move by pulling very hard. This doesn't look tight enough to be in the back of your minivan, and regardless should not be in the Z.

He's young enough that he'd be happy with a ride in a yugo. The vibration is relaxing, not the sweet car.

I stand in line with the others.

Rear facing = NEVER in the front seat

Even though the Z is designed to incorporate front facing seats, I still cant bring myself to do so.
