Default little help here guys

I am looking to purchase a solar orange 350z. enthusiast model.... It has 9,500 miles, and they are asking about 27,995.

Do u think thats a high price? and wats the ball park i can get them down to?

I have a bmw 325ci i am willing to throw in but i paid 14,500 for it and over the phone he only offered 8,500 i was hoping maybe my car and 15k cash... that a fair price?

what can i expect to get for my bimmer. it has high mileage (105,000) but is in good shape....

The only concren i have is the base model here went BRAND NEW for 29,995 a year ago.... how can they expect me to pay only 2k less for a used year old vehicle..

ONLY serious posts please, i made a few dumb post in the past and i apologize, i would just like some serious help

Default Colour?

Even though I doubt the demand is really there as it was never really everyone's cup of tea, but maybe it's a bit higher as it is the "Luxury Paint" or whatever Nissan called it. I know here in Australia if you wanted the Solar Orange you had to pay an extra $500 on top of the extra $375 for matallic paint, it was coined "Luxury Paint Surcharge" by the brains trust at Nissan Australia. What I would do is find some similar MY07s in different colours and ask that dealer why his is so much more.

You guys in the States, was the Solar Orange paint extra for you too?

Well what you should do is write down on a piece of paper a price that you think is fair (you can make that judgement after a few more post), give it to the guy after showing real interest in the car....test driving, questions....and if he dont like it, just give him your phone number and tell him to call you if anything with the price changes. This way you really dont loose. if he calls you it will be with a better deal...and even if you dont get the car, or a call, there will be ones out there for a better deal. If you are spending that much money you dont deserve to get ripped off. (And if he dont call he dont want to deal and not worth your time)

And I would say around 24.995 but thats opinion. Not really sure how your market is...and check autotrader for your area!!

Hope this helps!

A base 07 Z was $27,900 MSRP. The price for a new enthusiast I think was around 2K more, so between $29k-$30k MSRP. The price they are asking seems a little on the high side. They are asking basically $1-2k less than when it was brand new at MSRP. Most people can get a new car less than MSRP. I think you would be doing good if you could get the price down to $25K, but that would definately be a good deal for you, so they might not want to budge that low. It might be hard to get them to drop below $26k, but you will never know until you try.

For reference, I got my black 06 touring last year (so also one year old at the time) with 11k miles for $22.5K.

If that is only color you want, then go for it. Price is a couple thousand high.

Do your best to bargin down but get what you want. satisfaction in what you buy is worth some money.

I just want to say: Anytime you take a vehicle for a trade in, they will only give you the trade in value. This will be far lower than what you would pay for retail.

My advice would be, use the 15k for down payment, sell the car as a private owner and use that money to pay off the rest. This will also help build your credit.

Also, check the amount you will be saving on the tax. Basically, they subtract the amount of the trade in value to the car for sale, then add the tax. Compare that with if you would sell the car and pay cash for the new car + tax. Question is, are you saving more selling it privately for the full amount and buying a new car plus tax on the full amount. Or are you going to miss a few bucks for trading in a car and paying rest in cash.

Do your homework by checking the kbb (check retail and trade in value for both cars) and the autotrader to see what others are selling the car for (same year, model and mileage). Dealerships somtimes mark it up higher so when the customer negotiates they will bring it down a bit and make it look like you're getting a deal. Tell them what the kbb says it's worth, then negotiate from there. It's either traded in or bought in an auction, which means they got it for far cheaper than what kbb lists it for in the retail. Besides, the Z is a dime a dozen, negotiate the heck out of it and do it at close to closing at the end of the month.

BTW, they may say it was driven by someone at work for instance the manager or somethng like that. Either way, it's a used car. Mine had 2500 miles on it when I bought it and they tried to sell it for 5k over what the retail showed. They dropped it down to the retail price. I figure with only 2500 miles, paying retail was a pretty good deal. Just a note, I bought this car late in 07.

Thats what I'm thinking you see base and enthuiasist 350Zs all the time brand new for $27,650 pending the package and of course you have some enthuisasist dressed out almost like a Touring at about $29-$30K but used its still an E or a base.

You can beat that price on a Used E Z.
