Default guys I cancelled my Z order and got the Honda S2000 !

I was at a nissan dealer, actually I visited many dealers but around here there is a Honda right next to the nissan and I ended up test driving the S2000 and fell in love with it and ended up getting it !! new 2003 silver s2000. As this was going to be my 2nd car, I thought I'd get much more utility out of a convertible. Plus the s2000 had better HID, leather seats and a drop top! I was looking at the base/enthu 350z versus the s2000.. and it was a very tough choice.. you know, coming from the maxima world, I couldnt wait to get my hands on the VQ35, but I feel like I made the right choice for me. As far as power, of course 350z is better, but the handling and the roadfeel and the stiffness, and the fun factor of the s2000 was much better than the 350z. The s2000 rides like a go cart! its lots of fun. I had my mind all set on the white 350z. I still cant believe I got the s2000 instead! hahaha. maybe I should convince my brother to get a 350z..

well, just wanted to let you guys know. dont take this as a flame. I still got my "modded" maxima and 2 other maximas in the family. i'm a nissan guy at heart !

as for me, the s2000 is my first 4cylinder, first car with leather, first car with HID, first car with RWD/LSD, and most of all, my first convertible! and i'm still getting used to the car and having lots of fun. I'm still gonna visit the Z board everyday because I truly love the Z too..

good luck man, its a great car, I bet it does drive like a go cart; its so light. its a totally different type, as a second car I cant blame you one bit for goin that way. IMO it has very little function, but if its second car, who the hell cares!

Well I do admitt that the S2000 is a very nice looking car & I'm very happy for you. I too am a nissan person. I've had 3 maxima's a sentra & of course my "3 fairlady's" are still in the family. I just could never bring myself to buy any other "enthusiast" car than the Z. Of course if I could convience myself to spend the money, a 911 would be nice.

oh wow you are a genuine nissan guy too! but trust me the s2000 is every bit an "enthusiast" car as the 350Z too. I never cared much for the s2000 til I drove one 3 weeks ago. With the 350z, it was instant love. I loved it the moment I learned that nissan will be producing them. with the s2000, I didnt like it that much til I actually drove one. The road presence of a 350z is so much stronger than the 2000. S2000 guys say how the 350z is mass produced and s2k is a limited production car and blah blah blah. but I dont care. 350Z is gorgeous and it packs a punch. But with the top down during summer dusks cruisin with the girl, the s2k has a good road presence too! I like the external looks of the 350z better than the s2k (unless my top is down ), but interior wise, I like the s2000 MUCH BETTER than the 350z. Its a lot cozier and the way interior just hugs you, it truly feels like a cockpit. I love it. Now only if my twin brother would get rid of his 2000 5spd maxima and get a 350z.... hmmmm..

P.S.
I can't believe i'm defending a honda in certain rights. lol. this is my first honda and the s2000 really is a pretty good car !

Hmmm...interesting. I am still waiting to buy, but really only to find the deal/car I want. Maybe I should go drive a S2000 first? I guess it couldnt hurt. I am thinking about keeping my pickup truck, that would be the only way I could justify a Honda over the 350. That convertable would be too impractical for one's only vehicle.

You love it & thats what matters most. Honda makes great cars across the board. One of my friends has the S2000 & loves it. He's been asking when I'll let him drive the 350. Maybe we'll trade for a day so I can experience it for myself?

of course the interior hugs you...the car is TINY. But it is a nice looking car. I was a Honda cheerleader, until the Z came out

I have a coworker that really likes the S2K...but she and a friend went to look at/test drive them over the weekend, and she said it was just too small. She is a bit shorter than me (and I'm only 5'3"). Also, her friend that went with her couldnt even sit in it, and he is 6'3". *shrug* But you have fun with your red start button

I am a S2000 owner and I have to say comming from Supra twin Turbo and 300ZX twin turbo the S2000 is a very different car its like a track car..... The funny thing is Im looking at 350Zs now I would like a GT kind of car... Like the Touring model and maybe in convertable...with a little more luxury and toys... Good luck with the S2000 and always check that oil level and when you Break it in drive it like you Stole it...and a bit of advice dont change a thing on the car the car is perfect from the Factory and keep the S02s tires they are very very sticky...If you want to mod it think Light like Titanium exhaust... have fun and good luck.....The key to the S2000 is Lose weight HINT HINT

Yes.. go drive the S2000 and see how u like it. And yes you're right about the impracticalness too. I wouldnt have a problem with 350z as a daily driver, but with the s2k, your pickup truck would come in mighty handy. If I was still in college, I'd love to have the s2000 as my only car. you know, pimpin around campus and stuff. But with my morning/evening commute to work, the washingtonian traffic, the small interior of the s2k, and it takes a good effort to climb in/out of the car, I wouldnt want the s2000 as my only car. but even if you know all this, man the night I drove the s2000 of the dealer lot, all doubts/worries/is this the right car for me/whatever all disappered. It is that good. So go drive one and see how you like it. and they are giving a steep discount on the s2000. you shouldnt be paying MSRP for it. If you want to know how much I got mine for, email me at ethankang@yahoo.com
