If there is more than 3 inches I cant even get out of my drive way.I dont have all weather tires though.Unless you have seasonal tires I suggest you stay home when it snows.

If you said snow happens SOMETIMES in Indiana, your odds of success is very good! Just make sure you drive under 20mph!

I tried to back our Z out of the garage ,to change the oil in the wifes winter ride , it got stuck and wouldn't back out of the garage , 2" snow/with slight uphill grade ,oh well ,still love the car ,Craig.

Last December, drove from NC back to Michigan... Hit a snowstorm in Ohio... Ended up sliding into a ditch ...twice (the second one was pretty deep)
When I finally made it to Michigan, I made it all the way to my subdivision, and then as soon as I entered the neighborhood, my tires just wouldn't turn on the sludge, and my lil bros had to push me to my house.

Ok I lived in maine for 2 years with my 350z. The snow there is bad. You can drive in the snow but it depends on lots of things. First you need snow tires. There is no question about that. Second its the type of snow. Light and fluffy or wet and thick. If it snows more then an inch and its heavy wet snow then your chances really suck. During the first snow fall of last year I got stuck at a red light and if it wasnt for some nice person who got out of there car to push me out i would have been stuck there for a long time. If you dont stop and dont have to turn your alright. But you will always need to stop and turn. Also you have to consider that even with a Z that isnt lowered its already low to the ground. So your Z might be trying to plow the road. I gave up when i got stuck at the red light and got a loan from my bank and got a 4x4 truck for the winter. So my advice to you is if the snow is bad there get another car or chance it with good snow tires. It all depends on how much it snows there and what kind you end up getting. I just moved to San Diego and thank god i dont have to worry about snow anymore. Good luck man.

I drive my Z all year… rain, sleet, and snow… and never have any problem. And… that is because I mount the appropriate tires to match the current road conditions.




In the winter months, I use 4 snow tires (all-square 225/55-17”) on snow-dedicated 17” wheels. The car drives wonderfully on frozen roads, and on snow and ice. Of course, if there is 4 to 6 inches of snow, and the roadways are not plowed, I don’t attempt driving the Z since the car would high-center and become “stuck” in these conditions. The previously mentioned state is actually a challenge for my Jeep Commander equipped with all-season tires. The Jeep handles it because it has lots of clearance.

Before driving in the winter, I detail the car to apply protection for the paint against the chemicals and salt put down by the DOT on winter roads. After winter is over and in the spring, I detail the car to remove all the bad stuff (salt and chemicals) that accumulate on the car during winter driving. That effort has kept my car looking like new after 5 years of winter seasons.

wow, you have earned my respect. i tried washing my car in jersey during the winter and i had to stop 15 min because i was getting frostbite.

Pack a blanket and some non perishable foods whenever snow season is in. Personal experience.

I made it through this past winter on the stock Potenza's. My commute during the summer was about an hour and it would take me about two when it was snowing. Just drive slow and let people pass if they get on your @$$. I think the negative stigma surrounding RWD cars in the snow is slightly unfounded. I drove a limo back and forth to the airport all winter a few years ago without a problem. The biggest issue with the Z is that it lacks ground clearance and tends to get stuck. If you've got a manual transmission you can start off in second. If you get stuck going up a hill, turn off the VDC and get the tires spinning quickly.

With stock tires, I can't move 2" unless I turn off the VDC. Once you get going, turn it back on as it will then help. Zs are horrible in the snow with summer tires.

I also just got a set of Eagle F1 All seasons. I definitely notice the sway from the softer sidewalls, but I'm pretty sure they will keep me from being stranded in unexpected light snow come winter time. Time will tell.
