To mod the Z or upgrade to a GTR, what to do...

I didn't get through all the responses so maybe this has all been said.
I was in a very similar situation to you. I did not have unlimited funds by any means but a GTR was certainly an option. I was debating between modding the Z and selling to get the GTR. Here's what it came down to:
1) Awesome specs but not crazy about the GTR styling initially though it has grown on me considerably.
2) Crazy mark-up especially for a Nissan.
3) Price not likely to drop for a couple years.
4) No option for manual transmission.
5) First year production and we all know how that turned out with the '03 Z's.
6) Sentimental value of the Z......first car I bought for myself.
7) Able to mod the Z to get the performance I want and learn alot in the process.
8) ZR is convertible which is great in SoCal.
So with all of that in mind, I decided to keep the ZR and took it to Sam at GTM for a 4.0 L stroker with an HKS SC.
Good luck in your decision!

Gotta luv this example tho...
Heck when I buy a car, house or whatever I never felt the need to ask others for help in the decision making process. Nor the need to explain my financial situation to a bunch of strangers when questioned...
Whats the point? Its your money buy what you want. As nobody really cares one way or another what ya get...
