I looked under the car this morning to see if i can find a loose wire and i did. There was a loose ground wire behind the muffler. Could this be my problem? I will post a picture in a few minutes.

hey, wanted to ask on this cos it seemed somewhat appropriate and I'll be torn to pieces if I started a new Thread for this. I've done research and can't find a definitive answer.
Which year(s) Z's are having all the motor replacements?
Good Luck with your car blue

CAN problems are a PITA. I would first check the connections with the BCM and the AC Amp box. The BCM is below the fuse panel under the drivers side kick plate. The AC Amp box (white) is under the radio/AC controls just infront of shifter.
If i had a problem with the ECU, wouldnt i have problems like starting the car? The car drives fine, it just lags performance(misfiring). I do know that the car does need to have the o2 sensors in the back replaced and there is a ground short.
Also, i will check the BCM and AC amp connections today and see what i get.

That ground wire goes on one of the bolts that holds the muffler to the midpipe. No it alone isn't causing your issues...its just one of many grounds. But I'd reconnect it all the same.
From the factory one of the bolts has 2 nuts on it, the first one holds the muffler flange to the midpipe flange, the 2nd one holds that ground on.
If you need pics lemme know via PM, as I forget where I post....quite often.
I'll be under mine this evening if you need a pic.
Actually, its the flange thats in your pics.

If you pm me your email I can send you the section of the FSM that will walk you through some manual checks you can perform without the use of the consult-ii (specifically the ground and power checks).

I just had a thought. Pop the hood. Check for wires that aren't connected...given that your car was (most likely) modified, and then quickly put back to stock to sell, there's a good chance something isn't connected. Also check that the 02 sensors are plugged in. Start simple, work your way complex.

The car will drive fine for about five minutes and then it will start to lag(bog or buck). In other words, lose performance. Ive looked up the codes and most of them i believe are senor problems or a short circuit somewhere.
I guess in a way the car didnt go bad, it probally had problems before but it got worst with me as being its new owner. I am thinking about selling the car and stay a way for a while. BUT i really love the Z. I want to fix it up but am worried that there may be newer problems in the future. If you guys were in my shoes, what would you do?
Thanks for any help/suggestions
