Curious: what was your previous car and how does it compare to the Z?

2003 Mitsu Evolution VIII, heavily modded to 420awhp: http://www.cardomain.com/id/deceit . Sold it because maintence on it was going to be ridiculous, insurance was killing me, and I needed a new project. Got my Z as a daily and i'll be getting a Supra for racing/modding next year

My 2004 WS6, 13.9@101 in the quarter, a WRX/350Z eater on the street. Paddle shifters on the steering wheel, and Eaton M90 under the hood with 12.5 psi. These FWD cars are a b*tch to launch though......

2002 RSX type-S. I wish I would have kept it and never got this POS Z. Who needs a car with a defect that forces you to buy new tires every 5,000 miles.
None-the-less I am suing nissan and soon they will be buying their crap back.

1995 Bronco/Eddie Bauer Edition, 5.8L V8, white/bronze. '96 was the last year for the Bronco. Nice ride for what it was, lots of cargo space. Reliable engine and tranny. But the brakes were shot and replaced twice and there were lots of very annoying electrical problems with the alarm, power windows, engine kill switch and even the tail lights.
But if I had some place to park it, I would have kept it.

I know what u mean about Acura quality vs. Nissan.
I bet your RSX Type S was airtight and rattle free compared to the 350Z.
My Z seems like a rattly box compared to my 99 Civic. Even my VW was this bad.

Why are you surfing enthusiast boards of a car you hate so much?

My 240sx was bulletproof and didn't chew threw tires, either, but it only made 140hp. And, it cost $20,000 back in 1990. Z costs $30,000, makes twice the power, and looks way better. I'm not complaining.
Hell, my bike eats up tires every 3000 miles. I COULD put hard tires on there that last forever, but if I wanted that, I woulda bought a harley....

I had a 2000 Ford Lightning, lightly modded. Gobs of torque down low, would send the tires up in smoke at any speed below 15mph. It ran 12.8s on 14psi of boost and I could tow a boat and haul dirt with it. I got rid of it because I simply wanted something different, after having had it for 4 1/2 years. I even had a 1999 Lightning before that. I wanted to give japanese car ownership a try, and so far I am quite pleased.

I had an 1989 944 Turbo that was superior to this car it's not funny.
Better braking, handling, acceleration, quality, more practical, better interior space.
It was old though, and needed little bits of attention now and then. My wife thought it was way too fast for the street. It was fairly modded and was insanely quick and fast. It was going to either tempt me into losing my license or my life.
I like the look and sound of the Z. I think the interior is incredibly cheap and poorly layed out, the paint is ***, and the tire issue is bad engineering. (I guess we have proof that it is partly Renault).
I have other cars in the meantime, but this was my sports car replacement. In my opinion, a mistake.
Sorry.

New 350z Le Mans with GT pack and Nismo kit.
Still got my Black 91' 944 Turbo.
Prefer the 'newness' of the 350, its a great car but will miss the Porsche when its sold. I have had it for 6 years but I found that you could drive at the limit with a lot more confidence in the 944 from first drive, seemed to be a bit more connected if that makes any sense. Or it could be that i'm not quite ready to fling a new £30k + car around just yet, live in the UK so got to wait for some nice dry weather before I give the 350z a good booting around. The 350z definately looks the part compared to the 944 which looks its age now, but I miss that turbo push when flooring it. Possibly looking at a Turbo/charger for the Z next year.
Overall the Z is a better car, just lacking in soul compared to the Porsche, can see where tk952 is coming from but have to go with the Z.

Mercedes E 320 '03, Very nice car with a great interior (Benzes come cheap here :-p) Leather interior, BOSE system, 4 seats... 4 very happy people, but then it hit me...
i didn't have enough friends to fill the seats hehe,
but i'll keep it next to the Z... The problem with the 320 is, that it does not have enough horsepower for a 3.2 litre, it has some torque though, but it's nothing compared to the handling and engine caristeristics of the Z, so it took me 10 seconds to decide that the Z was a great car in which i'll probably have miles and miles of fun :-)
