My first Z encounter (share your stories)
Share your stories about your first Z experience/encounter.
***
At the end of November of 2002, the San Francisco International Auto Show at the Moscone Center. My g/f and I saw all the manufacturers' cars, and took pics with the nice ones. At this time, I had the premise that I was probably getting the (fully-loaded) 330Ci the next year (2003).
Nonetheless, one of the cars that caught my eye was the Nissan 350Z. It looked real tight, but I thought that the cockpit was a little snug. Well, fast forward half a year later, I now have the Z... weird, it wasn't even my first choice (or a choice for that matter), but I have no regrets with my purchase.
I dug up these pics a little while ago, thought I would post them.

I saw the Z for the first time at the NY Auto Show held at the Jacob Javitz Center. They had it on a revolving pedestal and no one could go near it. It was love at first sight! I just stood there and stared at it for half an hour, walked away and looked at other cars, came back and stared at it some more. I knew right then and there that I would be getting one. I wasn't really in the market for a new car but had thought about replacing my old one within the next couple of years.
After leaving there, I did some research on the internet, refinanced my mortgage to get some of the cash and ordered my car on May 1st.
And I still love my Z as much as the first day I set eyes on one. It's hard to believe that in about two months I will have had her for a year already!

i first saw the Z waaaaay back in 2000 or 2001... i forget... it was still known as the Z Concept Car. I saw the sketches and the production car on a magazine... i thought it looked tight also. I tried to follow up on the car through out the following months but then i lost track. I day dreamed to myself... "I wonder how it would feel like owning a car like that?" Then my cousin got a CS Performance later in August 2002 and it was the first one i've seen upclose and in person. Then in December 2002.. that dream came true

I was walking up the stairs to then entrance of my campus and I spotted a Chrome Silver one in the parking lot. I was so preoccupied with staring at the Z, that I almost tripped on the stairs.
I knew that day, that I MUST get one. Only 3-4 more years of school and then work to go...

My first sighting of an actual 350Z was, believe it or not, at a dealership. I walked in one day just out of curiosity, and there she was, a gorgeous redline Track Model! Love at first sight! First Redline Track Model on the Island too, I believe. Needless to say, did the paper work and bought it that day .

Nice story, and in case I forget, happy anniversary.

I have had lots of previous Z's, and heard the concept was going to debut at the Detroit auto show, so since I fly free (work for an airline), we decided to go see it (Jan 2001). I immediately fell in love, then put a deposit down when we got home.

Saw my first Z at the unveiling held at the Blackhawk Auto Museum in Danville in the summer of 2002. I had already ordered my car. Mr. K was there to take the wraps of the car. Gorgeous Daytona Blue. I walked around the car for hours and stood in line to sit in it. Made knowing that I had to wait 4 more months to get my own Z tought to take.

My wife has had Z's her whole life and in the interim when she needed a new car in 98 she went Prelude SH. Since I work for Nissan Motor Corp I seen it well before the average person showed my wife and she said my Z is back I'm getting it. She has had a 71 240,82 280ZX, 87 300ZX, 93 300ZXTT and her 03. I myself have been a Maxima fan since 85 and since I needed the extra space I always ocnsider it a great alternative to a Z if you need more space and since they share the same heart and some other things.

i was going to get and s2k.... but i don't like convertibles.
figure: s2k 31.5k + hardtop = about 33k
consider: Z = about 28.5k
so i thought fine... i'll look at that stupid nissan sports car "wanna have a heritage" TT look alike. (hehe...)
You know how it is when you see a new car in magazines... you tend to be over critical. You think it looks ugly or the numbers aren't that impressive. But somehow when you're in front of it... your hair stands on end... when the engine starts... you somehow lose the ability to keep your mouth closed. And when you sit in it... you just can't stop smiling.

Wow, in for curiosity reasons, but ended up purchasing... If you don't mind me asking, how much over invoice were they asking?
