Default Failed E-brake

My brother's 04 Track was parked on the driveway at 8:00 AM, at 11:30 AM it rolled down and ended up across the street on my neighbors lawn. We got it down and took it straight to nissan. Somehow, there was absolutely no damage (body, rims, or otherwise).

I have an 06 Enthusiast and my e-brake doesn't do a damn thing either. I need to try tightening it. Is this a common problem?

A few pics of the aftermath (nothing was resting on the curb, just missed the mailbox)

(pic showing where it was parked on the driveway. My car 1/2 in the pic on the right)

yeah i think they did make the ebrake a bit too loose on the 350z, it needs to be pulled up quite high to fully lock.

oh man wow.......glad there was no damage, but yeah, you need to leave the car in gear...always!!

but the parking brake can be adjusted/tightened.......you have to pick up the coin holder and look down in there and tighten the nut on the threaded screws....

check the pdf factory service manuals....it has step by step how to do this..

holy crap, how can there not be any damage, look at the size of the curb!

I would have thought that atleast your muffler would have gotten scraped up

My '06 is the first car I have ever owned in my life that CAN NOT lock the wheels at any speed and I have owned some real pieces of sheet in my time. At freeway speed it barely scrubs off any speed at all. I could literly pull a fred flintstone and get it to stop quicker.

I once put the ebrake on on a pea gravel driveway that was flat and it still moved.

Only way it would hold was to pull it up till it bottomed out which after a few months blew out the whole system which they fixed under warranty. Even when it's adjusted in spec it still doesn't hold.
