I guess it was bound to happen. Makes me want to sell my car now. The 350Z is going to become a car synonymous with teenage ricers. This guy says that his bolt-on z with "200 lb wt. reductin" can stay door to door with a GT500 Mustang and pull a low 13 second evo. It's annoying to see this on the local level. Someone please pinch me and tell me it's a nightmare!

Coolest shift **** threads are a breeze compared to all the "drift kings" that are going to arise in 2009. It's just tough to see it come to this after a good run. I guess the good thing will be the rarity of the Z once all the 16 year old douche bags total them.
What is the coolest shift **** anyway?

Those were the days when the Z meets were good now we have a bunch of wanna be thugs acting like morons at meets. I don't even pay attention to other Z's on the road anymore unless it properly modded.

its just one of those things no matter what car it is there will always be a person that thinks horrible parts look good. that would be the kind of person you just take there money from them if they think there car is that fast. had that happen with a guy here that owns a gt mustang thought we would beat my friends single supra it was funny.

Or go buy a GTR - fewer teens in those circles. Not all teens are like the tools we see here. I have met some reeally cool ones at meets.

I just turned 18 but I am not like going to abuse my 350z when I get one. I am in the market in buying one right now but once I get one I'm going to roll the red carpet down for the Z everywhere I go lol...
and not all teens are like most here and giving the other teens a bad name. I know I'm not one of them, try being a senior in highschool and a junior in colllege at the same time! hard work!

Pulling a GT500 no. Pulling a low 13 second Evo is very possible. I pulled on 2 Evo's both with intake, exhaust, and 20 psi and tunes from a 40 roll. One ran a 12.80@105. I also pulled on a single cam turbo hatch that ran 13.0@???? on slicks. All this was done with a bone stock 06. It's not impossible.

our Z is going to be the next "civic", I'm telling you. but I don't think many kid will be able to mod them tastefully, though. Even though the price of a used Z is quite low, but the real authentic aftermarket parts for it like HKS, INGS, etc....cost quite a bit.

Whoa guys, I think you're putting too much thought into the idea that younger people are buying Z's and may rice them up ect. What ever happened to loving your Z for what it is and not for who else is driving it. But I do see where you're coming from. I don't want to see a 350z around every corner with knock off mods and crappy primer painted body kits anymore than the next z enthusiast.

True, and the Z is not the next civic. The next civic is the next civic. Civic parts are cheap, Z parts are NOT. Single suspension parts can cost several hundreds of dollars to replace.

I buy a car for my own reasons, not because of who, or who doesn't own one like it. Unlike many of the young ones here, I didn't buy a Z as a mark of my manhood. I bought the car because I liked it. I don't care if a bunch of kids buy them as the cost goes down. It doesn't make the car any less fun to drive.

I say the scion tc is the next "civic" really. Theres always going to be someone your ashamed to share a common bond with, thats life. Seriously ive read about the 17-18 year old gtr owners even. Just love your car for the same reason you bought it, because its a great car. If you bought it for the opinions of others then should you really have bought it in the first place?
The fakes will get weeded out... our treed, walled, curbed, car paymented, out anyway.

well, im taiwanese and my 350z roadster was my first car. yes, i do plan to mod it, but no, im not going for a rice rocket look. i think its unfair to degrade the type of crowd the 350z attracts now just because the car is more affordable now, but i totally get what you mean by the whole teenage ricers clique going on. i remember reading another thread here a few months back about having a Z wave, and so far the ones who dont wave back really are the chinese kids on the streets!
but really, it doesnt matter. the more tricked out their car is, the more noise and attention the car will make and receive, and the more haters and popos will come floating towards them too. those of us who take on a different approach with our cars have much more to appreciate it for.
