Did you really think paypal was going to somehow magically pull 2300$ out of their *** for you? Im guessing he will never use that account again. There wil not be money in the acount to give you. If this were my 2300$, i would most likely make a print out of all your dealing with Alex, and paypal and actually drive or fly to where he lives. I would go to the police station and press charges. Not sure what would happen though, but thats what I would do.

I got work and school 6 ouf of 7 days in a week, Im just amazed by how these stupid organization covering up for stupid obvious criminals like Alex, and wont be able to do anything to protect the honest buyers. I dunno if hiring an attorny will help, but thats probably what im going to do next, since ic3 has no answer still.

I can't remember now after 57 pages, but did you take the money from a bank account or credit card? If it's a credit card, then file a charge back and paypal can then go after the other guy for the money. They will place your account into a negative and try and get you to pay it back but throw it back at them and have them go after the other guy. They were a party to the Fraud and have to take some type of responsibility. Their lax rules basically facilitated the whole thing.

Exactly. Need to get at least your pound of flesh while the attorney works on the financial end. Find out what jurisdiction would handle a small claims case - I think it would be your hometown as my business has had to file cases for non-payment with out of town customers. The Z community CANNOT let this guy get away with thievery. It is going to take a while but justice can prevail.

Call local State Police. They can research his account down to were the ip accessed paypal. Hopefully he was dumb enough to use his real name, possibly an address with the PayPal account/Email Account/Service Provider etc. I wouldnt let this go. Paypal has to have been linked to a Bank of some sorts, and with the laws the way they are, you must have some sort of legal docs to open an account. Sorry man...

Did you happen to contact your local FBI office? They will do more than the police will...
First, file a complaint here;
http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
http://www.fbi.gov/contact/fo/west.htm
Select your region here, and then contact your local office.
