I love my Z more and more each day... even though the only problems i have had with it were caused by other people. im at peace with them now.. sort of..

i havent had any problems with tire feathering and i drive my car HARD..

no tranny problems on my 6spd that i know of... some times slowing down and then down shifting into first while going really slow the syncro's (???) take time to let me push the stick into gear...

besides that it kicks a$$!!!!

youll love your track...

I originally wanted a track, but im happier with my performance.. lil cheeper / same exact thing on the inside / different wheels and breaks (gonna change them any way)

I've had my car for almost a year and 13,500 miles and it is a great car. There are a few things that are annoying, the tire feathering, grease streaks on the windows, and the snag in my seat from the service guy at the dealership. The only one of those that really bugs me is the tire feathering, but a new set of tires should take care of that.
The car actually seems to get better with age. The shifter feels smoother, it feels more powerful, and I'm less afraid to drive it hard so I can have more fun. The car really comes alive when pushed hard, especially on a track. Overall it is a great car and with a 2004 you should at least be able to avoid a few of the problems. I would definitely recommend getting a Z.

Default YES, YES, YES

Like everyone else, I love it more every day.

No window grease/tire feathering problems. I took delivery in July (with a May 2003 built date). It seems the widow/tire problems are only on the Zs built the first 6 months or so. BUT, I’d still love this car if I had to clean grease every day and replace the tires every 5,000 miles. Those are small inconveniences –this is one awesome car. My only regret is that it took me 9 months to be able to buy one.

My advice, buy one as soon as possible.

Read Z2k3's post ....avoid paying too much (even though it is worth every dollar)! You can buy it for way under MSRP.

Peace

This car has become a part of me.. Simply speaking this car has helped form me from the day I bought it. It is me. I am my car.

I love this car no question.

April 03 build date, took delivery June 6. I'm about to roll 5,000 miles and (knock on wood throw salt over shoulder) I have not had any of the issues people talk about. No grease, no feathering, no bounce, no seat click, no grinding tranny.

I count myself lucky and hope the same for you.

Forgot to add I have a Tack and based on the information I read on this sight and others made a 4 wheele alignmnet a precondition of purchase, and required them to show me the printout.

ALL 4 wheels were out of spec upon delivery (I watched them take if off the tuck) so you might want to see about getting that done right up front.

The internet is a great place, but issues tend to get put under a microscope and appear from the outside to be a lot more common than they really are. There are some significant issues that have happened to SOME cars, but those you read about are probably still a fairly small sample considering 30,000+ cars are on the road in the states.

It would get awful boring around here if all people did was post how great their power window switch worked, or how good the power steering was. Fact is all you will hear most times after the initial excitement over a new car is the problems, however important they are.

I love my car. It did have feathering and window grease. The window grease issue is one I still scratch my head on though as to why so many people think this is just a huge issue. It is minor in the scheme of things, and my other two cars have done the same thing for years and I never thought twice about complaining. The only difference with the Z is that the other car and truck grease the glass out of the line of sight to the mirror, so they aren't quite as annoying.

Not really, maybe in the states where the car is affordable, i wouldn't be so disappointed, but here in canada, it's a 50,000 dollar car, and for 50g's i want less problems, better service, i had less problems with my 99 gtp and had it for 4 years. service wasn't much better.

Heh, I've still got a 98 GTP (which to this day greases the windows). I think several here had those.

steering rack was the only problem i had with the gtp, and that was at 138,000 kms, and it's so much cheaper and easier to mod

I've had two steering racks on the GTP, and haven't yet taken it in for the recall (although I got a $700 refund on the one out of warranty).

I had a couple of trim issues as well, and a pulley came off the tensioner and knocked a hole in the power steering pump requiring a nearly $600 repair bill (strangely enough, the tensioner actually has coolant flowing through it, making it an expensive part itself). Other than that, 90,000 good miles so far.
