Fastest way to buy 350 Z
Does anyone know what would be the best and fastest way to buy the "Z"...??? I was thinking of going thru onr of the online services because most dealers are a rip off (by the time the Z gets to the dealer they will up the price 10X), any thoughts and ideas would be appreciated, ...thanks in advance.

Well, I myself think if you use an online service you'll end up paying more money because they'd most likely be trying to make a profit by helping you.
I myself would look at contacting a Nissan dealer located in a small town out in the middle of nowhere, away from the big city mentality. If you can find one, odds are good they'll take care of you. In the big city, it's cut throat and mark ups are the way of life. In the country, it's service that is key. Most will honor the MSRP and thing is... the longer you wait, the harder it'll be to get one right away.
Once the magazines break with the story about the production 350Z, there will be a great deal of people looking to get one. Same thing happened with the s2000. Right now, we're privledged to be on the *inside* so to speak of the info curve regarding the 350Z, but soon.... a lot of people will be here with us. I guess what I am saying is that if you expect to get one anytime soon, jump on it. Sure, you'll have to fly to the dealer to get your Z and drive it home, but you might be able to get it on a flatbed truck or something instead.
If you end up calling any dealer out in my direction, I'd be happy to drive it to wherever you live. Heck, I'd even pay for the trip myself. Driving a 350Z across country is something I plan to do a great deal.

Thanks Jman, that does make sense about the small town dealers, ...I will explore that route. As far as driving the Z cross country, heck, I too would love to do that. ...I live in Southeast Michigan and will drive the Z for you anywhere in the continent with real TLC.

Actually, I am one of those trying to get out of mine. I ordered a Chrome Silver (Charcoal Grey)Touring 5AT with mats and kickplates for MSRP ($1,000 deposit) on 2/21/02. Let me know if you are interested. Driving from MI to SC would be quite an exciting road trip indeed.

Pre Order
The fastest way to buy a Z is to preorder it.
From the time I walked into the dealership till the time I walked out was about 10 minutes. In that time they briefed me over the various options preapproved my credit and took my $500 check.
What could be faster than that?
I also live in SE MI between the Detriot and Saginaw area. I chose Garbers in Saginaw because it is alot less hassle than the Detriot area for service. I payed MSRP so you might want to check them out.

Thanks much for all the info, looks like I have more options than I thought. ...Question for Zorro, is that dealership in Saginaw bound by a contract to deliver your new Z for MSRP? ...what if they try to back out of the deal because they can sell it for more? ...is this possible? ...I am thinking that many dealers promise to sell for MSRP and than when the actual time comes they may up the price for whatever reasons, ...like a market value adjustment, which I have seen done. Of course they have to give you your deposit back, but so what, ...now they have a hot car that's in demand, and can practically name their price. ...Just thinking of the worst scenerio that could possibly happen. ...While visiting Jacksonville Florida, I took my parents to price a Honda Minivan, and when I looked at the paperwork I could not beleive my eyes. The dealer had tacked $6000. on top of the MSRP, for fair market adjustment among other misc. bs dealer $$$ add ons.

I spoke with Tiffany on the phone yesterday and I still can't get over they have five Z's left. One of our members, SkiDazzle, bought his Z from her and he swears by her and the dealership. Great person to buy for and here's the best part...

MSRP </b></center>
Yup... not a penny more. Just call her at 423-587-2506 and she'll take care of you. Tell her Michael (SkiDazzle) sent ya, because after all, she might not be here if it weren't for him!
Thanks Michael, Thanks Tiffany! Best of luck Z-Flash!

As far as i know up here in louisville, Neil Huffman Nissan still has about 5 or so of their second batch available (they already know for sure theyre recieveing 3 batches of 8, the allotmet and times of batches after that are unkown). They arent requiring a down payment at all, and are honoring the MSRP, and to top it al loff, im not obligated to buy it..since they know they can easily sell my car to someone else if i turn it down when it comes in..hehe, whihc i DAMN well wont do! I walked in after leaving the office around 6:30, and was out of there with my freebies and a copy of my pre-order by 6:45 on the way to my parents house to make them jealous (my moms favorite car that she got for graduation back in '78 was a Z). Louisville KY is a ncie centralized location to fly into if your loking for a Z to buy away from home
