Honestly, are the 06' rev-ups that bad?
im in the market right now and through my research ive found that everyone hates on the 06' rev-ups due to their oil consumption problems..
can some 2006 6spd owners chime in here? just how bad is this whole thing? ive found some stellar deals on low mileage 2006 mt6 cars and am hesitating now.
thanks

What are the possibilities of this. I'm also a SJ native and was looking to possibly selling my 06 with 31k miles.
But anyway. The 06's man are excellent cars and the oil consumption problem is not really as bad as many people make it seem. As long as you have the car serviced at a certified Nissan dealership you're good to go under warranty. But to me the 06's is one of the best years out there. Great cars all around.

The Z is the worst car ever, it's as bad as the Ford Pinto or Pontiac Fiero. Do not listen to the first reply, that person wants to sell you his rolling deathtrap and then dance on your grave while making it rain with your cash after it blows up on you.
You should consider buying a Camry Solara convertible or a Sebring convertible instead.

If you buy one that consumes oil, then you have a problem. Hopefully you have some warranty time left to get it tested and engine replaced (powertrain warranty 60k miles?) - then back to square one.
If you buy one that doesn't consume oil - then you don't have a problem.
pretty simple.

my 06 has no consumption whatsoever. love it, end of story. the dealership can check to see if warranty claims were made on it with a VIN number

I have a 2006 mt that I got brand new (20 miles on it).I havent had a single problem with it after 25k miles. No OC.The clutch is perfect,no paint chipping,no rattles,no power window issues,18/24 average gas milage. Its a completely stock DD....Its actually a 2006.5 and that could be the difference.I have asked people on this forum in the past if anyone owns a 2006.5 that burns oil and Ive never gotten a anwser.

i love my 06'...never had any problems yet (35kmiles)
i think most people freak out on the oil consumption thing a bit much...i mean if you pay any attention to your 06 and notice it has an oil problem then Nissan will fix it and you get a new engine...also, its not exactly common...
so go for it, yes the HR may be better but the 06 is way cheaper and you can make it faster than a HR with the money you save

I don't understand why everyone freaks out? When I got my '06 I was hoping it did CO just so that I could get a brand new motor. But I guess in the long run I ended up being one of the lucky ones and never had a problem. So far I'm at 40xxx and I feel like I just broke it in.
Btw good job to the OP for opening another CO threads, lets see how long before it gets flamed

I have been delighted with my '06 Enthusiast 6 spd. Fast, refined, decent gas mileage, zero problems.
It uses a quart every 3500 miles. It shouldn't but I really don't see it as a problem.
