People think my car is supercharged and its not but what is the sound i'm hearing? Nothing fancy in this vid here i'm just testing camera mounts and tripods I did this quick before it got dark.

Ima take a shot in the dark. Sounds like your gear box. Get the gear grease changed and see what happens.

 

I sometimes hear the same sound from my 06 5AT. It's usually from 1000~2500rpm.

 

Sounds like the noise when you go reverse!!

 

Gears. Mine does the same thing. Nothing to worry about. Superchargers are alot louder. Well atleast the ones I've heard....

 

It's just your transmission. In the first 2 gears, a whine is very noticeable. I've come to enjoy it.


At least it doesn't sound like a dogbox.

is this the noise everyone keeps saying they have in their 350z?

that is definitely a tranny whine. i've NEVER heard that noise on a 350z or g35 until this video. I guess it's common, but not common around here. lol, weird.

 

Yeah, mine whines too when I downshift. My girl loves hearing it... I tend to worry but I guess it's normal.

 

Time to change transmission fluid

 

Maybe the F/I gnomes installed a super secret supercharger in your Z at night when you were asleep???

 

haha, i just thought of what that sounds like.

it sounds like the whine that an electric R/C car makes. the real race ones, not the cheapo walmart ones.

 

The noise most people complain about is the cement grinder/mixer noise at idle that is attributed to our flywheels.

 

I thought that sounded familiar.

weird, i have neither of those noises and still haven't heard the "cement mixer" noise yet.
