Exclamation 2005 350Z Questions...

Hey everyone, ok So I am in the Market for a Z.... I came across a 2005 Z with 54k miles on it, white, non convertible.

1 question I have is that I hear that the 05-06 have a Oil Consumption problem.....what is this about? and can it be fixed?

the 2nd question revolves around every Z ower and people that have a custom Z...... you guys know that piece in the trunk that shows through the rear window in the trunk...sorry i don't know the name of it....well it takes up most of the trunk space and I was wondering can I take that out? is it easy? Is it possible....well thanks for the replies guys I will be sure to answer any questions or respond to your comments.

have a gr8 week, Alex.

Only the '06 manual models have the oil consumption issue. If this Z is an '05, you should be safe.

And that bar in the back is there to add to the body's rigidity. And no, you can't remove it.

to your first question use the search function and for your second you can take away all the plastic but under that is a strut bar, now you can remove it but it will mess with body flex

I see.... well even let's say I do take the Strut bar off..... hypothetically speaking here isn't there a sway bar for under the car that can be placed in the rear to compensate the difference i guess?

I think I read something about those sway bars for underneath the cars but not 100% sure I could be wrong

There are sway bars underneath the car also, but I'm sure that rear strut bar was put there for a very good reason. I doubt any member on this forum has taken theirs off. If you want a similar car but with more seats and trunk space, the G35 coupe is also a good choice.

if storage space is a concern, get a g35 instead.

the 35th anniversary edition manual tranny z can also have oil consumption issues, but if its a normal 05 z, you should be safe.

How about get yourself a 350Z. Then we can figure out the strut brace anti-sway bar thing.
