I do somewhat disagree that it takes a good driver to get mid-low 13's though... in fact the last track day I was at, there was a guy with a bone stock C5.. first time at the track, and he was running 13.4's-13.3's all day... by the end of the day he ran a 13.0.. bone stock... and this was his first time out
You don't get it. With a good driver, an HR motor can reach low 10's stock. Not even the ZR1 can beat an HR.

You tell him, Solo.

Okay let me start off.. sorry for not reading up and doing more homework, i have done a lot and feel more educated.
Your right too the 350 that beat me had more than an intake, but it was not FI, my friend is his friend and i just talked to him. He said somthing like Greedy pops stuff, exahust, maybe a chip, and new ECU with a tune. This might sound messed up IDK this is what he said.

Now as for my corvette. I had it dynoed not to long ago, all it has is a venom intake. Everything else bone stock. Put down 304 rwHP. too all the other corvette owners on this forum, you should realize that the LS1 engine losses power over time (be that 12 years), thats is proven, and what a substatial amount of power loss that the car losses throught the auto tranny. Anyone else on here with a auto stock C5 should know something about 2nd gear retarded vacuum advance and bad low RPM torque. When we raced it was from a 40 roll. I was in 1400 rpm territiory in second gear(traction off). The corvettes auto, cant rise RPM's fast enought at this stage to have have any serious take off. NOW... anything like a 60 roll or more, you can be sure as SH&^ the vette would be the winner.

Ohh and for the guy that said i could get a EBCM for 150 range. You need to do some research yourself. the 1997 BCM is unlike the rest of the C5's, it is much more expensive, and requires a different type of programming once reinstalled. Belive me i have done MORE than enough research on that topic.

Any specific years to stay away from?
How much is too many miles,(I'm not familiar with DOHC V6 stuff, RELIABILITY?
Any recalls?
Whats the deal with the NAV screen, most 350's i look at dont have them?
How much more is a Nismo?
I have heard a lot about the performance parts for imports being much cheaper, is this true?
Anything else you think i should consider will be helpful.
Sorry this is a lot of questions, but its hard to find all the answers on gogle searches. Thanks for the info![/QUOTE]

1)If you getting 1 now go wit 06 or higher. Added HP and HR, Y not. I own an 05 so im not sayin this cuz I own an 06-08.

2)100,000 2 many look 4 somethin round 0! but if not think bout how long your gonna have it if 4 ever like most of us get low miles if you can. I bout mine with 20,000 in 2007. I think I was lucky though.

3)Recalls ive heard about are the window motor thats it.

4)Nav screen not worth it, as a man sorry I just don't use it unless I'm completely and uttely lost. I never had it in mine but I just bout a DVD player and use my cell or Tom Tom for directions. I think the Nav was a waste.

5)Nismo bout a good 5K-10K more depending on area when I was looking I don't care much 4 the body kit but the rims r SICK!

6)Nothing is ever cheaper 4 imports shipping/rare-ability (is that a word) lol, and everything 4 the Z since I been orderin has to be made or on back order its worth it though I love havin somethin everybody else aint got! I.E. CORVETTE or MUSTANG

7)Consider weather you want a Roadster or Coupe.

Can you install just a DVD play in the factory NAV area? I saw a video on youtube for a Carputer in a 350. anyone have one of those or comments?
Your very right about everyone having a corvette/mustang.

Keep going I thinks Im convinced.HAHAHA
Seriously 350Z sounds and looks like a awsome car. I have never ridden/drove in one yet, but i will be on Wenesday.

even with you starting at 40, there is still no way you should have lost to a bolt on 06..even with a 97..especially if you recently put down 304 whp... go run your buddy at the track and let us know the results.(you might as well, before you get a z)..

also when we are talking about a drivers race we are reffering to Z's with the HR motor...

as for the BCM you are correct,

I forgot you had a 97, but $900 still seems very high, guys on CF still spend less then that...i believe my uncle replaced his back when he had a vette and it wasnt that expensive.. either way good luck with your search, there are plenty of great deals on Z's now adays

the 900 includes Labor of reprogramming and fixing the leak that caused the broken ECM and possibly whatever wires and other circuits got damaged. (OHH yea) so i never have taken the vette out in the rain, the dealership left it out overnight, it rained, and apparently i have a leak. Wasn't too too much water but leaked basically directly over the BCM so thats how i got into this whole situaton. ohh and it was at the dealership for a broken shifter cable. that also cost me a nice $400 dollars.

i cant wait for wenesday now. heres a link to the one im going to see, http://fortmyers.craigslist.org/cto/1293071464.html

Most likely i will not purchase this one. If i decide to do anything, it will take a few weeks to sell the corvette, and im sort of picky on paint color. really want either pearl white or the metallic blue. Anyway not much of a description for the 350 but i will tell you more on wenesday.
