I own both and will part with neither. 2003 C5 and 2008 350Z. The C5 is my Daily Driver and 350Z gets it's share of use. The wife loves the Z (she owns a Focus, enough said) I have had no issues with my C5 and have done many mods to it. I have just started modding on the Z and will continue I am sure.

It all really depends on what you are looking for. 2 totally different vehicles (at least mine are)
I think that the older C5's did have issues as you stated. Both are expensive to mod, but bottom line research then choose for yourself and be happy.

Whats the deal with the NAV screen, most 350's i look at dont have them?
How much more is a Nismo?
I have heard a lot about the performance parts for imports being much cheaper, is this true?
Anything else you think i should consider will be helpful.
Sorry this is a lot of questions, but its hard to find all the answers on gogle searches. Thanks for the info!
1)If you getting 1 now go wit 07 or higher. Added HP and HR, Y not. I own an 05 so im not sayin this cuz I own an 06-08.

2)100,000 2 many look 4 somethin round 0! but if not think bout how long your gonna have it if 4 ever like most of us get low miles if you can. I bout mine with 20,000 in 2007. I think I was lucky though.

3)Recalls ive heard about are the window motor thats it.

4)Nav screen not worth it, as a man sorry I just don't use it unless I'm completely and uttely lost. I never had it in mine but I just bout a DVD player and use my cell or Tom Tom for directions. I think the Nav was a waste.

5)Nismo bout a good 5K-10K more depending on area when I was looking I don't care much 4 the body kit but the rims r SICK!

6)Nothing is ever cheaper 4 imports shipping/rare-ability (is that a word) lol, and everything 4 the Z since I been orderin has to be made or on back order its worth it though I love havin somethin everybody else aint got! I.E. CORVETTE or MUSTANG

7)Consider weather you want a Roadster or Coupe.[/quote]

Werd, I have also had very few issues with my vette ( it now has 108,000 miles on it).. only recently have I run into a few problems

on a side note: mod for mod it is alot more expensive to mod the Z( pre- HR).. the gains are minimal unless you go with some sort of FI.. on the other hand the LS1 takes to mods very well, especially bolt ons..

I picked up 30 whp and 35 wtq with just long tube headers...those kind of gains from bolt ons dont exist with older Z's.... just throwing it out there... most people already know this..

It handles as good if not better then the c5, but of course lacks the torque where the Vette has it, but overall, the ride, the quality, fit and finish of the Z is better in my opinion
Keyword: sports car enthusiast. As a LS3 and a VQ owner, I love the Z for being a much more practical car. I've owned a C5 LS2, the thing that bother me the most is the concrete mixer sound and those annoying brake noise which can be fixed easily. If I had to sell one of them, I'd sell the Vette and keep the Z.

You are obviously underestimating the HR motor.

Let me say I absolutely love this car, and i am a total car enthusiast so i have done a few mods to the vette. Although it is going on 13 years old, 80,000 miles and i just replaced the BCM for 900$. It is an extremely expensive car, getting old, and at my age gets me in a lot of trouble. I truly don't want to get rid of it but, im almost forced too. : (

Soooo...
I was looking at some 350Z's. I sort of have a lot of questions because i have been so heavily involved in the domestic car scene. The last year basically all my money goes to keeping my car running, i want to get away from that and have something more dependable. Here are some of my questions.

Any specific years to stay away from?

You paid $900 for a BCM?

They are $300 (or cheaper online) and take little time to swap out yourself.

So if you ran 14.5 in Denver then we should say you never ran a 13 or 12?

Get out of here with your bs dude.

Look here, ricer boy...

You want to run a faster time that compares with the best of the Top 25? Then goto a faster track. Until then, you have a 13.8 second car.

Btw, a 370Z ran a stock time of 13.5 at SAR. Does that correct to a faster time than the best HR time?

That car wasn't stock. Believe what you want, but a friend saw that 370z. And I ran with another one the night I ran, and it could only muster 14s.

Sorry if your pride and joy POS Chevy is all butt hurt. Get over yourself. Maybe you should just leave instead of always spouting off about how good your car is and ours isn't.

Proof? The owner claims it as being stock.

I don't need proof. Like I said a friend saw the car. Taking the filters out and removing the muffler stock? Sure....
